Experiences - Worse ever trip !!! (Alcohol and LSD)

Swim went out last Friday with some new people and he had lots to drink... And took two blotters, now he can't remember why but he got beaten up. And he still remembers being in a strangers garden having the worse trip of his life ! He stayed there for hours and was unable to move.

He doesn't know whats reality and what is the bad trip.. Even now hours and a day later he still can't. He will ask around what really happened. And if he upset someone then fair enough but he really doesn't know what the fu*k happened..

Now the girl he was with phoned him the next morning asking if he was alright and if swim would get the police involved, now swim would never get the police involved.

Swim just wanted to share this and say: Never ever trip with strangers !!! Swim isn't new to LSD but he never experienced this ! At least the left swim alone.. If they really wanted him then they would have kept him indoors.. But then again he thinks that he run away.. But he isn't sure.. Very confusing !!!

At least he didn't wake up on a mental ward or at a police station.. But still... This will never happen again ! Also the timing is bad as his mum is coming over tonight and he could have done without this !

Anyone else has similar story's ? Or any tip for swim to go back to normal again quicker ? As he is still confused.

Its not the physical part whats bothering him, its the mental part. It was the trip from hell !!! If it was only a bad trip or only a beating swim can put up with it more easy. But both.... Not good !

Swim's mistake was drinking a lot and then tripping in swim's opinion, it was callous.

Exactly. This is not a normal occurrence because nearly everybody has the sense not to drink and drop. That was a terrible mistake on SWIYs part, and swiy learned his lesson. Some drugs aren't supposed to be mixed for good reasons.

Venusia, he got what he deserved, it's not like there aren't books and websites all over the place covering the basic rules of LSD use. A person who does something so foolish doesn't deserve sympathy and comfort but a stern warning. These sort of activities not only put themselves but others at risk.

Make sure you have time for a tripp (not the night before your mom coming over)
Don't drink and drop.
Plan your tripp.
Don't tripp in bars.
Don't tripp around strangers.

Sorry, I am a very empathetic person, to a fault at times. You're right though, tough love is probably best in this case. I just get upset hearing about people getting hurt, even if it was due to a foolish move on their part. (I'm even getting teary talking about it here...I am just a big old cry baby.)

I do not condone his actions though. It was extremely foolish to do what he did, and hopefully there was a real lesson learned on his part. It just sucks that it had to be learned the hard way.

Swim enjoys one or two beers when his trip is starting to end, drinking lots is obviously a stupid idea. But no one deserves a bad trip!

The confusion and shitty mental state will wear off in a few days. Already said, but yes lots of alcohol mixed with powerful psychedelics is a bad idea. Booze in excess leads to loss of control-of bodily functions, emotions, everything really. Add a powerful drug that can tap into the deepest recesses of your mind and, more often than not, one will end up in a bad place. Chalk it up to experience, swim did, and you'll be alright. Not advised for anyone else to try lol.

I beg to differ, the bad tripp is a learning experience, it's a harsh lesson handed down by higher powers, it's a chance for introspection and growth. And it rarely occurs with out reasons, and in this case those reasons were clearly avoidable.

Does it suck that this person got beat up and lost and now has to face their mom high and bloody? No doubt. But next time, hopefully their going to think long and hard before accepting strange drugs from a stranger at a bar.

Lol, SWIM got punched whilst tripping, weirdest experience he has ever had. Made him feel 'weird' for days after wards. He has no idea why he was punched, just remembers realizing at the last second someone was starting on him, then bang!

This is true, but ignorance is not always the fault of the ignorant. If society and government made proper, realistic and truthful information about drugs readily available to everyone, especially those who are not internet savvy, death and trauma caused by drugs could be reduced significantly.

Some people who have commented on this thread need to realize that this poor person is another victim of a disinformed, misinformed drug society that this website along with many others are trying to prevent. Not to target anyone directly with this following statement, but do not scare people away from sharing their experiences that could otherwise help themselves, and other people learn by calling that person foolish.

Strength through knowledge and knowledge through strength, meaning do not be afraid of sharing your experiences and the knowledge gained from these experiences just because someone might slam you by saying 'well that was stupid'. Because theres a good probability that same person could make the same mistake.

Swim made a school boy mistake and he should have known better !! But the vodka (which he normally doesn't drink...) It was stupid but still a beating on LSD its not nice.... Trust swim on that one ! And he will never do it again...

When people say don't drink and drop; is it OK to have 3 or so beers in the hour before and after you drop to get yourself in a relaxed mood, or is alcohol a general nono?

One or two drinks (in the flamingo's experience) is generally fine, and may reduce any pre-trip nerves.

Sometimes, overwhelming feelings when peaking may induce anxiety: In this case a beer/glass of wine can be centering and normalising

The emphasis here is small amounts of alcohol

The flamingo would also like to point out, that, occasionally (for her at least), even a sip of alcohol whilst on LSD has induced or worsened nausea, and (on one memorable occasion) it induced copious projectile vomiting (and vomiting on acid sucks)

Wow, Swiv had never heard of this. She's only had one experience with drinking on LSD, and she didn't have any problems. She can see how the booze might make it a bad experience though.

Sort of on topic: It almosts seems as if, instead of drinking pre-trip, one may benefit more from taking a small amount of diazepam or alprazolam (alprazolam sustained release would be Swiv's choice) before dropping. Instead of making one's liver work harder and taking the chance of getting sick mid-trip, wouldn't the benzo produce the same pre-trip calmness and make nausea less of an issue? Couldn't it even possibly help prevent a bad trip since the tripper's anxiety would be under contol?

Wow what a poor Flamingo. SWIMS mate recently started vomiting on acid and it sent SWIM into a buzzkill because his friend was vomiting and nothing was coming out and SWIM had this bad feeling that he was trying so hard to vomit that he was gonna vomit out is lung or something (not literately, but like do damage you know?) and SWIM could feel his friend was on a similar trip when he decided to stop. SWIM did his best not to mention his thoughts because it would only reinforce this bad trip for SWIM's friend. So instead SWIM was just like "Ya feeling better now? I always feel better after i puke" to try and get his friend on a good trip, which worked well for both SWIM and his friend

Another reason why not to drink on acid, to avoid the bad trip of vomiting.

Urm, Swim would advise against benzos prior to a trip, they're used to KILL a trip if its going badly wrong...

EDIT: If pre-trip nerves are really bad tripping probably isn't a great idea...

Hmmm, some interesting reactions here. I hear a lot of people saying how crazy it is to drop LSD in combination with alcohol.... i agree it has its risks , but swim has never blacked out and forgotten whole episodes of the night where he has gotten himself into major trouble or anything.

Then again swim does not drink hard liquer usually, i believe the OP was drinking vodka. Also swim would usually only drink a few beers before dropping LSD, from what swim can gather from the original post it seems swiYaba was fairly well tanked before he even dropped. But in all honesty , swim can drink as much as usual during an LSD trip as opposed to before it , swim is not recommending this but he thinks it only fair to mention.

Swims main foible with LSD and alcohol is it takes away from the psychedelic element of the expereince and makes it more humourous and sarcastic.... which is fine for recreational group experiences but not for introspective learning experiecnes.

Swims point .... alcohol and LSD in conjunction isnt nesecarily a complete nightmare of a combination, swim would assume it is physicially safer than mixing alcohol with MDMA or Cocaine which are both far more commonly used drug combos.

Basically dont get smashed drunk before a trip, drinking during a trip is safer as its easier to guage a comfortable dose of alcohol and prevent blackouts/drunked idiocy, do not trip with strangers in a strange enviroment.

Swims mum was over and he hasn't been on line for a while.

He thinks (knows) that the vodka was the problem not the LSD or even the strangers. If he was on beer he would have been fine or if he was on LSD alone he would have had a lovely time ! But he isn't good on vodka and he was an arse hole on it ! That why he got a beating and a beating on LSD isn't fun...!!!!! Even when someone is that intoxicated on vodka,

Swim thinks alcohol in moderation with LSD could be fine (depending on the person) but getting plastered on vodka with trips and then a beating... Not recommended !!!!!

SWIM got completely smashed and dosed a hit of LSD, it turned out to be a HILARIOUS experience. SWIM's jaw hurt at the end of the day from laughing and smiling all day. SWIM went swimming in the ocean and it was amazing
