Drug info - First time WEED, weird smell?

Hey,

SWIM is from the UK so getting good weed can be hard. He can get all the soapbar he wants though - it always has a smell of strong freshly cut grass almost. For those outside the UK you probably have never heard of soapbar - it's really just a horribly low quality hash that is full of adulterants. It's flooded the UK streets.

Anyway, this hash - when heated / smoked - always gave a lovely smell of grass and it was what SWIM distinctly associated with cannabis.

SWIM recently got some homegrown weed off a friend of a friend but it smells NOTHING like this - not like grass at all. SWIM has smelled homegrown weed before and it still had the strong, pungent grassy smell he had always known. This new stuff doesn't have that at all, it just smells a bit sweaty to be honest.

Is this normal? SWIM though cannabis ALWAYS had this smell - SWIM smoked some and it did get him high though.

Odor isn't always indicative of strength. Although Swim think sit probably was cut premie and/or not cured properly.

Swim is from the US but knows of soapbar from the forums here. He'd seriously chew out his dealer for even touching shit like that or considering offering it to him. I feel for you and all the other cursed UKers out there. Hopefully we can get some sensible cannabis laws in place soon and y'all don't have to deal with that shit no more.

Well... the smell of cannabis is a very variable thing... each strain has its own scent, which can be very different from the other ones... so, yes, its normal to have weed with different smells.

The smell is often very different. I think you can say stronger smell = stronger weed ( not always though ). And if it smells a bit sweaty, don't worry. Should be a sign for quality.
