Cocaine use to lose weight?

A friend is looking to snort cocaine in order to lose weight. She wants to lose 20lbs and has heard that this works. She is also active in sports and goes to the gym a few times a week so she is not worried about being able to keep the weight off once its lost. The question is, how much (in terms of the number of small lines) will she have to do every day/week and is there an approx time estimate for losing the 20-30lbs? She is planning on doing it for 2-3 months...is that enough time or will it be too long? Any info would be appreciated. Thnks

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

I highly recommend SWIY doesn't use cocaine for the sole purpose of losing weight. An addiction can be built up and then SWIY will have to go through that. Not to mention cocaine can get pricy and one must keep taking lines to suprress the appetite. If SWIY already goes to the gym, why not just try some type of diet and keep exercising? This seems to be SWIY's best bet IMO.

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

Bad idea. Cocaine addiction does terrible things to the body and pocketbook. Please deter SWIY's friend from making a harmful decision to her body. There are some great resources out there that exemplify what long-term cocaine use does to the body, but I'm not at liberty to post links. Furthermore, SWIM doesn't believe cocaine aids much in losing weight or keeping it off. Sure, it suppresses the appetite, but it would be pricey to continuously be on coke. The idea seems very unlikely to work without creating a lot of harm in the process.

SWIM enjoys cocaine as a recreation, but always likes to impress on others the danger of cocaine addiction- how it can wreak havoc on lives and one's body. In the nature of this website forum (harm reduction) please encourage SWIY's friend otherwise.

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

She must smoke freebase and after some time there will be only skin and bones But seriously, thats a NO NO for that purpose. C is for fun, not for loosing weight. And yes, thats true, that she will get addicted straight away, because she must do it every day to loose weight and thats the best and fastest way to addiction. But this is up to her...

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

Cocaine is, of all the stimulants, the worse possible choice to lose weight; it has already been discussed here and there is little more to add.

Becoming addicted to cocaine will almost surely have SWIY looking like one of those starved models pretty quickly; it will almost surely also cause SWIY to end up penniless, with a fucked nose and a screwed up mind but it could also permanently fix the weight issue; dead people don’t care about such things (or anything for that matter), coke is not something to carelessly play with, the vast majority (if not all) who have been “there” would never advice anyone to go “there”.

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

While I HIGHLY discourage stimulant use for weight control, cocaine is just a not a good choice. It's very shot-lasting, extremely expensive, and HIGHLY addicting; the amount needed to loose 20lbs would most likely turn you into an addict and an anorexic (due to it's paranoia/anxiety inducing withdrawals).

Methamphetamine. *hint* *hint*

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

is meth not "as" addictive..? Thanks everyone for the posts..just trying to figure this shit out and learn about it all before SWM trys anything. Definitly want some boost though. SWIM is tired alot too so is thinking that the other effects of C and (maybe M) will be beneficial as well. Also heard it makes a person more social while on it. It all sounds so tempting!!! I know it sounds like SWIM is ignorant but SWIM has no other place to ask these questions. Thanks again.

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

meth is terribly addictive.

you know the saying, what goes up must come down... well the opposite applies for weight with any stimulant tbh. if the weight comes down, it will go up with a vengeance the second swiy stops using them.

its not a permanent solution, it will only keep the weight off as long as swiy takes stimulants. expect to end up larger than what swiy started the second swiy quits stimulants. a life on stimulants is not a merry one, just ask anyone over on the recovery and addiction forums. abusing stimulants will make swiy age at a faster rate, and can do permanent damage to the brain, leave you with mental problems, severe depression, and overall make swiy look like shit.

diet and exercise is the only way to reap permanent results. this doesnt mean starving swiyself, it just means maintaining a healthy balance of nutritional food, and ten mins walk a day minimum. theres no need to exercise for over 25-30 mins, 3 times a week. anymore than that, and swiy will gain muscle mass. (unless thats desired, then give it a miss).

try pilates, as its low impact, stretching basically, and moulds the body into the sort of figure a dancer has. doing a pilates workout 3 times a week for between 30-40 minutes will show results. fill swiyself up with good foods and lots of water instead.

edit: swiy wants to improve their appearance i guess, well take a look at the "faces of meth"... some of these people were only on it for twelve months yall.

http://images.google.com.au/images?c...num=4&ct=title

http://www.drugfree.org/Portal/DrugI...ces/index.html

note the damage theyve done from picking their face- which every meth user does at some point or another tbh. part and parcel of the drug...

this was one of the most common applications of amphetamines after WWII when they were easily prescribed, as well as study aids. critter's mother was prescribed amphetamines as teen in the 1960's as a boost to study for her secondary school finals.

some european countries like France or Spain had commercial hits with amphetamine and derivates diet pills (CLOBENZOREX HYDROCHLORIDE, asenlix, dinintel, finedal) come to mind.
look up "anorectic" drugs, you'll find plenty of references to amphetamines and amphetamine derivatives

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

If this person's looking to suppress her appetite, my roommate has had pretty good success with pseudoephedrine--not in large doses, just recommended ones; it cuts her appetite way down and she doesn't poke around the kitchen aimlessly looking for something to eat because she's bored.

Pseudoephedrine isn't harmless--it raises blood pressure--but it's safer and cheaper than coke and meth.

low dose amphetamines have been prescribed for weight loss with some success, but it needs medical supervision.

amphetamines at low doses are no more addictive than benzodiazepines and those are used like candy, so...

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

This just screams "bad idea." Sure, SWIY might lose a few pounds (muscle mass most likely) but the damage to one's physical and mental well-being from routine use would far outweigh any positives. Honestly there isn't much that good old-fashioned hard work, exercise and diet can't do. However, if stimulants must be used, caffeine+ephedrine together would be far more effective and less damaging and habit-forming. SWIM's advice is to save the hard drugs for recreation.

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

Sibutramine is relatively safe option to lose weight; it’s a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor with a very weak action on dopamine and has not been proven to induce any appreciable euphoria and thus lead to addiction.

Sibutramine is an adrenergic agent which increases levels of norepinephrine considerably and it has plenty of contraindications (many of which are common to all substances that increase norepinephrine, although nothing comparable to cocaine or methamphetamine) and it also has a long list of potentially dangerous side-effects (many of them also shared with other substances that increase norepinephrine significantly. Sibutramine is a Schedule IV controlled substance in the United States but anyway it’s being prescribed like candy so it should not be too hard to get a prescription; only a doctor who knows SWIY medical history can tell if SWIY could/should use it.

Sibutramine, like pretty much all other anorectics (especially the so-called “centrally acting”) cause dependence which means that stopping its use will quickly lead to further weight gain and it can lead to symptoms not unlike those of stimulant withdrawal (although far milder), particularly lethargy and depression, it can also induce anxiety due the rapid weight gain.

There are also other anorectics like phentermine and diethylpropion, but they are falling into disuse mostly because they can cause addiction, but for a second time; only a doctor who knows SWIY medical history can tell if SWIY could/should use it.

In SWIM experience of using sibutramine to prevent/reduce the insatiable hunger and profound lethargy caused by stimulant withdrawal; sibutramine was completely useless, however SWIM has been using cocaine for almost 6 years including 4 years of intravenous use; he has also used methylphenidate, amphetamine and methamphetamine (limited experience with meth) so it can be said that SWIM does not represent the typical individual looking to lose weight.

SWIM agrees that sibutramine is a fucked up drug and useless; but in the scientific papers he has read it is considered to be a “stimulant” (although not in the same sense as amphetamine or cocaine) as its most powerful action is on norepinephrine. SWIM should have explained better the “stimulating” effect of sibutramine which by virtue of its action on norepinephrine creates a side-effects profile closely resembling that of a real stimulant; this is likely why is referred as a “stimulant” although “adrenergic agent” sounds like a much more appropriate description. The post has been updated.

Re: Cocaine use to lose weight?

Popular misconception that Cocaine aids weight loss.

SWIM used to hammer coke all weekend, have no appetite from friday lunchtime to monday breakfast time.

By the time monday breakfast came, SWIMs body was so starved of nutrients from 3 days of an empty stomach that he BINGED, and put 2st on in about 4 months.
