mellerill and procycladine
When swim was about 21 he was sectioned for drug induced psychosis for a couple months and at the time he was prescribed a drug called melerill 50mg 4 times a day and also a drug call procyladine to take along side, any way swim stopped taking these after a few months when he felt better but the other day he found a couple of boxes of both drugs, the use by date was 9/2000 he was wondering if they would be safe to take just to see what effects they have, the proper /chemical name for melleril is thioradazine swim thinks, someone told swim that they were taken off the market years ago as they could cause heart problems, how true this is swim doesnt know, any advice on either of these drugs would be great

Re: mellerill and procycladine
Mellerill is, indeed Thioridazine.
Thiroidiazine is an old style (typical) antipsychotic that was taken off the market in (I think) the early 00's, due to it's alarming propensity to cause people to drop dead from a particularly nasty ventricular arrhythmia called Torsades de Pointes. Procyclidine is an antimuscarinic drug that is used (not very successfully) to deal with the Extrapyramidal side effects of antipsychotics. Things like akathaesia, tardive dyskinesia, dystonia and drug induced Parkinsonism. It's also sometimes used for dyskinaesia in idiopathic Parkinson's Disease Procyclidine has all the usual antimuscarinic side effects: Dry eyes, Dry Mouth, Blurred Vision, Urinary Retention, Constipation, Drowsiness and mydriasis (large pupils) Neither of these drugs have any recreational value at all and should be returned to a friendly local pharmacist for safe disposal |

Re: mellerill and procycladine
Thanks for that, swim took some in the end, his curiosity was eating away at him so he took one when he was in oxy w/d, at first nothing seemed to happen but he woke up about 3 hrs later and felt about 3 times heavier and very unstable, totally zonked, walking round like a robot, swim didnt find this enjoyable at all but it let him sleep in which he couldnt do when withdrawing from oxy which helped a bit, he regreted taking them because once he got his oxys later in the day it seemed to block the effects of the oxy, he had to take about twice as much to even start to snap out of his trance like state

Re: mellerill and procycladine
I was prescribed Procyclidine hydrochloride for the sweating that I suffer from because of my methdone script, Im on 90 mgs and I sweat bucketloads on it, anyway my normal doc from my doctors prescibed it and then my drugs worker told the doctor at my clinic that I was takin it and she told me I wasnt allowed to take it anymore as it actually potentiates the methadone and makes it effects more stronger, I never actually felt this but this is what she said and she also told me that it has street value... I had never heard of it before and I have never been offered it on the street lol...
She has sent a letter to my normal doctor asking for them to do me a script for another drug in the same family, cant remember what is was called , began with f maybe , this is apparantly a weaker drug than the procyclidine but still works in the same way.. Anyway, Just wanted to add my tuppence..
