Swim is a recreational marijuana smoker, but does not like tobacco. Most of swim's friends mix tobacco with their joints in order to get a slower, nicer burn, and bigger joints with less weed.
Swim is wondering what ethnobotanical herbs could be substituted for Tobacco. They need to have a decently smooth smoke and having their own special effects wouldn't be so bad ![]() |

Re: Ethno to mix with Marijuana
Damania(so swim hears is good filler)-Minimal effects
Passion flower-Swim smoked a blunt with cannabis and passion flower foliage and that's the highest swim has gotten off a blunt between 4 people talking about mad stoned California poppy flower (good added affects) In swim's opinion it makes the peak a lot nicer. Blue lotus is one-(effects are present) swim doesn't know from personal experience skullcap maybe. Last edited by Benga; 31-05-2009 at 09:30. |

Re: Ethno to mix with Marijuana
Quote:
Another, well-known ethno that's somewhat synergistic with the effects of cannabis is Kava Kava. The dopaminergic/GABAergic activity from the Kava gives an intriguingly contradictory stimulation and relaxation - makes for some fun times! The chimp had dramatically enhanced CEV activity with this combination, and when he takes reasonably mild doses of the Kava, he wakes up in one of the most rejuvenated moods he's experienced before subsequent to night-time combinations. Aside from its pleasant taste, Blue lotus has been less than lackluster, in the chimp's experience - both smoked and ingested. Chimp can't help but think that people must be exaggerating slightly with this one; he's tried multiple preparations to no real effect. If 'mental clarity' means staying sober to you, Blue lotus is perfect! The combination of syrian rue with cannabis proved to be somewhat interestingly relaxing and slightly enhanced the psychedelic characteristics of the cannabis. The main problem here were the dietary restrictions; the chimp got so hungry for things he couldn't eat (MAOI activity) that he was beating his chest with a baseball bat! Aside from that little contradiction of effects - if one wishes to simply relax and potentiate cannabis, while keeping the maoi dietary restrictions in mind - this is a potential method. Sinicuichi proved to be almost completely inactive to the chimp - nothing more than a barely noticeable alteration of a typical cannabis high (both smoked and imbibed). Tasted nasty in both preparations; chimp wont likely try this one again for a while. Finally, kratom generated an extremely enjoyable and synergistic effect when combined with cannabis; in fact, the chimp likely wont ingest kratom in the future without cannabis to attenuate the stomach nasties he experiences from the plant. Chimp smoked the kratom powder to some success, but found that oral ingestion was more effective. |

Re: Ethno to mix with Marijuana
Coltsfoot, Tussilago Farfara is an excellent admixture if one is bothered by coughing. It is actually traditionally smoked for its cough suppressing effect. It's all in the name, Tussilago, which means cough suppressant.
Swim usually does not like mixing anything but tobaccoo with cannabis since other herbs often taste like burnt tea leaves and overshadow the sweet taste of the cannabis, but tussilago has a very smooth and discreet taste. Mullein may be safe to smoke, but remember that it contains rotenone, which is a powerfull poison. Where swim lives huge amounts of this poison is poured into a river to kill all the fish when there is a disease spreading in it. Good smoke, but bad tea. |

Re: Ethno to mix with Marijuana
Well, if you are smoking opiate-containing parts of the plant (say, the latex, or possibly the seed pod heads), then most likely yes. If you're smoking the petal, the buds, or the root (and possibly the straw), probably no.
