Drug info - Dried Liberty Caps from UK - Questions

Hi all,
SWIM bought a batch of dried mushrooms off a friend today. He says they were picked by a friend of his in Essex, UK (thus SWIM takes it they're lib caps) last shroom season. SWIM's friend has had some from this guy before, and says he was fine. SWIM however is still a bit paranoid that the guy might have picked some lookalikes by mistake etc. SWIM's been told in England there are no really poisonous lookalikes - is this true? Anyone got further precautions/tips otherwise?

SWIM tends to trust his dealers word. SWIM has even got mushrooms from a hitchhiker who needed money for the way home and had no bad thoughts that they were poisonous. SWIM is pretty sure a dealer wouldn't try selling poisonous shrooms because as soon as someone dies they are charged with drug offenses as well as murder.

You could get a book and look into the poisonous and magic types of the mushroom but since they are dried it could be harder to tell.

If SWIY is unsure, SWIY should not eat them. I have not heard of any deadly mushrooms which look particularly similar to Psilocybe semilanceata.

Psilocybe pelliculosa and Psilocybe silvatica are mentioned as look-alikes to P. semilanceata, but are not poisonous.

It would be very helpful if there was more reliable information on dangerous impostors of particular desired species.

SWIM's not doubting the dealer's (he's not actually a dealer, just a guy who picked a truck-load and shares them with friends) honesty, simply that he might have inadvertently picked the wrong ones.
