Kava-Kava Didn't Work

bought kava from a very wellknown online store. bought 1/20z 70% kavalactone paste. says to take 2 peasized amounts for good experience. heres my account:

T-0: took 4 peasize amounts
-numb mouth/throat. sick taste
T-1hr: took 2 peasize amounts
T-1hr45min: took 2 peasize amounts
T-2hrs: nothing

this shit is a waste of money.. for me, at least. maybe im immune or its bunk or something.. any ideas? thanks in advance.
