Difference between GBL and Butyrolactone

Hi,
As an ex GBL user, AFOAF found that a non-acetone nail-polish remover in the pharmacy contains Butyrolactone, without the Gamma.

A veteran in psychoactibe substances as he might be, this FOAF is still a beginner in Chemistry.

He wants to know,can Butyrolactone be used recreationally, without the Gamma part?

If the answer is yes, or the preparation is simple, he will also list the other igredients in this nail-polish remover product to consult you.
