Exclamation Alcohol extract - tar vs powder - A Theory

A story for you:

a girl named jason has done a few alcohol extractions and has a theory as to why sometimes a gooey tar like substance that never seems to dry is yielded, and sometimes a dry, flakey substace is obtained. jason believes that it has to do with one's filtering methods. she thinks that what maybe creates a flakey yield is a significant amount of small cacti powder particles remaining in the final solvent to be evaporated. jason believes this because when she carefully decants the solvent off from the cacti on the bottom, a tar is yielded, but when she pours the liquid and cacti powder together into a filter and squeezes and strains the solvent out, a dry flake is yielded. this would mean that a black sticky tar yield is the more pure of the two.

what are your thoughts about my story?

Re: Alcohol extract - tar vs powder - A Theory

it is interesting, but swim experienced the direct opposite, in that when he filtered using just a cotton bandanna and sock he could still see little particles of cacti dust in the liquid, but when he filtered with several coffee filters and legit filter paper (the kind you find in a chemistry lab) he got a significantly lighter product, that actually had small crystals in it in certain areas. swim thinks that, for him at least, the little bits of powder hold in the water and inactive junk and this explains why the blackish tar goo never gets dry
