Being prone to oedema anyway, just as a trait,

and knowing that oedema is a side effect of mirtazapine (Y's current medication), other than taking water tablets (which doc has offered) what is to be done, so that Y is not made uncomfortable by huge swelling of the feet and ankles, upon standing any longer than an hour.
Note, Y has nothing wrong with his heart, he had an electrocardiogram last year, and his heart sounded earlier this year, by doctors who said heart is good.
thank you.
ps Y is feeling more anxious and depressed, but tells himself that these two are just transitory, as he has only been taking mirtazapine a week.
