Drug capital of the UK - Liverpool?

Liverpool has become the £6billion drug peddling capital of Britain.

Gangsters on Merseyside have frozen out traditional London-based smugglers to supply drugs and guns across the nation.
They are carving themselves a bigger slice of the evil profits by dealing direct with cartels trafficking heroin and crack cocaine out of Turkey, Holland, Belgium and France.
Police intelligence revealed that the major Liverpool mobs are supplying hard drugs and guns to seaside towns including Great Yarmouth and Plymouth.
Other destinations include Devon, Corn*wall and Scotland, said the Serious Organ*ised Crime Agency.
One gangland source in Liverpool revealed yesterday: “Nobody can break into the market if they’re not from round here.
“Plenty have tried because there’s a lot of money going through the city, but they’ve all been sent packing.”

Liverpool’s most notorious drugs smuggler, Curtis Warren, 46, is believed to be Britain’s richest crime baron worth over £100million.
Shaven-headed Warren – nicknamed Cocky – is awaiting trial in Jersey accused of conspiring to import cannabis worth £300,000 into Britain.
Merseyside is the only police force outside the Met to have a Level Three international crime-fighting unit.
Assistant Chief Constable Steve Moore said: “Merseyside is a significant player in international crime, but we have invested significant resources to tackle the problem.
“But we have not seen infiltration into Merseyside by outside crime groups.

“It is difficult for them to get a foothold here because the traditional groups we have simply won’t allow it.”
