How many friends has SWIY lost to drugs?
In this case swim is thinking specifically of friends who died as a direct result of their drug use (excluding drunk driving and lung cancer).
Maybe another day swim will post the question based on friends lost due to swims drug use, due to their friends drug use, friends lost to incarcerration...

Swim would answer 8 if considerring friends in the family sense (friends that were like brothers/sisters etc)
Sadly, if swim broadened it to the more general sense of friends the number would climb to over 100...

Zero.

Then again, none of SWIM's friends have gotten into heroin. One friend of his brother's did commit suicide after struggling with a H addiction though.

None of the people SWIM knows who have died of OD or drugged driving have been what they would consider friends :/ That's good they guess, and hope it stays that way.

not directly from using drugs, but directly from drug use as such, for if they hadnt been using drugs it wouldnt have happened...

one mate threw himself in front of a train whilst on acid.

one other mate was raped, torched by fuck knows who for fuck knows what tbh.

the latter affected me the most. especially seeing as it happened after swim cleaned her act up. swim turned her back on this person because she needed to avoid the people/lifestyle in order to get/stay clean. its silly but swim thinks if she could have helped her to get clean/supported her/been there for her then it mightnt have happened, even though she knows full well theres nothing she could have done.

the guilts tbh.

SWIM lost her best friend and long time trip buddy to a fatal perscription drug overdose from a combination of Zanax and Methadone. She misses him terribly.

One, but she was more of an acquaintance and they're still not 100% sure what caused her death. She was just 25

Lost my beloved husband Sept.20 2009 from Hep.C. due to years of drinking and heroin abuse. Got sober on a Monday, hospitalized on Wed. came home on Thurs. died Sat. morning in my arms..I will never be the same. Daughters best friend hit and killed by a drunk driver,driving another drunk kid home from a party..He was 17.... R.I.P. THOMAS HUMAN You are horribly missed, now and forever..xxoo

Swiy's saw his best friend lose his father to an OC overdose. (I was good friends with him as well). Very sad indeed. He was only 56 years old, but he had a fun run.
