Alcohol and Salvia
There was of course one night when SWIM had finished the better part of a fifth of Bacardi Coco (coconut rum), and, full of liquid confidence and sheer curiosity, SWIM decided it might not be so bad to disregard the warning on the package of Salvia stating "Never take salvia with alcohol." SWIM had done salvia before. SWIM had been drunk before. SWIM had even mixed marijuana and salvia before. Therefore, SWIM felt comfortable with the effects of salvia and thus decided to try a new combnation. SWIM had 3 close friends over, one of which was chillin upstairs, drinking some shots with him, when SWIM remembered he had just about 2 hits of salvia left. SWIM and his upstairs friend decided they would both take some salvia and that SWIM would go first, so long as his friend stayed upstairs to watch him and protect him, in case the combination turned out to be unfavorable. SWIM took the salvia hit out of a glass pipe, held it in, exhaled, and immediately began busting out in ear-splitting laughter. SWIM vividly recalls his first time doing salvia and remembers how much it can make one laugh uncontrollably. But this time it was markedly different. The laughter came immediately after SWIM had exhaled, unlike the first time he did it. SWIM had always done the same concentration of Salvia (though he doesn't remember the strength), so he was especially familiar with the dosing required for a significant experience. SWIM's laughter was so loud that he can recall it hurting his own ears. Given the annoying and uncontrollable laughter, along with the fact that SWIM seemed to be displaying all the regular and familiar effects of salvia, SWIM's upstairs friend wandered on downstairs because he simply couldn't take the laughter. SWIM remained upstairs for about 3 minutes, waiting for the effects of salvia to subside so that he could safely descend the stairs to chill with his 3 friends. When the effects stayed around and seemed to only get more intense as time went on, SWIM's laughter became even louder and more uncontrollable. Feeling very brave and very fucked up, SWIM wandered downstairs as well. Once he got all the way down the stairs and saw his friends, SWIM hit the ground laughing, feeling very paralyzed by the salvia. He remembers not being able to pull himself up off the floor onto a chair so he remained sprawled out on the floor laughing his head off (at nothing of course). What made the experience unique was that the alcohol made the salvia trip last substantially longer than it would have without alcohol. SWIM recalls being on the floor of his living room, paralyzed by salvia, and unable to stop laughing for about 15-20 minutes, rather than the more normal 5 minutes. All SWIM really has to say about the experience is that the combination, if it is going to be done, should be done with a minimal amount of alcohol, do not get hammered like he did. Basically, alcohol will make salvia much stronger and make it last much longer, in SWIM's opinion. SWIM also thinks that one is probably better & safer off just purchasing a more potent salvia extract.
