Difenhydramine+ritalin+tramadol

A swimmy looking dude asked a neighbour what this would do.

What kind of high would swimmy get if swimmy took difenhydramine(to counter nausa) and tramadol and then swimmy would add ritalin?

Rottenfruit added 6 Minutes and 26 Seconds later...

K my neighbour is still talking to this swimmy looking dude and now he says he has snorted 20mg ritalin 100mg difenydramine and 150mg tramadol , is this swimmy dude in danger?

Rottenfruit added 4 Minutes and 37 Seconds later...

Swimmy is scared because swimmy once had a seziure after taking 10000mg of pregablin

Rottenfruit added 7 Minutes and 20 Seconds later...

Re: Difenhydramine+ritalin+tramadol

So let SWIM get this straight, SWIY has had a seizure after messing with pills and thought it would then be a good idea to combo more pills? Sounds like SWIY should rethink their strategy. Thank goodness it worked out, but please tell SWIY to be more careful in the future.

Re: Difenhydramine+ritalin+tramadol

This is not a healthy combination - sort of like playing with hot, fire-ey, magma. Tramadol exerts norepinephrine-reuptake inhibition, as does methylphenidate (Ritalin). Therefore, these compounds could cross-potentiate at norepinephrine receptors to induce a decrease in one's threshold for seizures; it becomes much more likely that one will experience seizures from the combination of these compounds.

The brain can be perceived as an organ that functions to balance excitation and inhibition to generate the best possible behaviors, given environmental conditions. Seizures can be basically understood as a runaway excitation of the brain. Norepinephrine can be considered to be a primarily excitatory neurotransmitter. Due to the enhanced norepinephrine activity from both Tramadol and methylphenidate, there wont likely be sufficient inhibitory signals (GABA, Glycine, etc...) to prevent seizures from occurring.

A primary defense against the expression of seizures is benzodiazepine treatment. Such compounds have been shown to attenuate the expression of seizures, especially those pharmacologically induced; it is thought that this reduction in seizure expression is due to the enhanced inhibitory GABA transmission. This will bring the ratio of excitation and inhibition to less dangerously seizure-prone conditions. Therefore, if one begins to feel very strange compared to typical effects - in a negative, sweaty, uncontrollably stimulating manner - a therapeutic dose of a benzodiazepine might be administered as a preventive treatment.

Diphenhydramine has been found to inhibit the re-uptake of serotonin as well. Tramadol has significant SSRI action. This combined activity might be anticipated to induce serotonin syndrome - a very dangerous, unpleasant, and terrifying condition.

In sum, these are three compounds that really shouldn't be combined at recreational doses. The potential for seizure-induction, as well as serotonin syndrome, renders such a combination as a recipe for over-excitation in the brain.

Re: Difenhydramine+ritalin+tramadol

Drug interactions all round with these three, potentially fatal or debilitating ones at that, and none of them are exactly prime cuts of pleasure. As far as this combo is concerned, just say no is my advice. (And just say no to any deliriant antihistamine, unless you are using small doses to potentiate a decent opioid such as oxycodone or morphine.)
