Pure alcohol manufacture
Let's say one would want to make 50L of pure alcohol (between 70 and 96%) at home, for using it later in the process ofabsinth manufacture.
1) I know you can make ethanol from either yeast orwheat (leads to grain alcohol). What would be the difference between these two ?(flavour? concentration of the final product?) Which one would give the most suitable alcohol for making absinth with ?
2) Does anyone know any reciepe for either making ethanol from yeast or making grain alcohol? (any reciepeindicating thewater/sugar/yeast ratio or wheat/malt/water ratio that is used and the quantity/yield of alcohol that is produced would be greatas I can't find anything about quantities, I'm only aware of the process itself).
2) How long is the fermentation process ? (1 week ?1 month ?several month?)
3) Any tips to avoid methanol or nastybacterias formation during the fermentation process?Edited by: genaro
