Here is a link to Katja Pihlainen's PhD thesis about improved CG/MS drug indentification method that promises to make custom checks much shorter and cheaper:
http://ethesis.helsinki.fi/julkaisut.../vk/pihlainen/ liquidch.pdf If this works as advertised (and it seems), it will mean that customs can do more checks on incoming chemicals and packets.. also (as introduction tells) new "designer drugs" can be identified much faster and more reliably.
