Question What is the best kind of tobacco to roll a joint with?

SWIM has been looking for the perfect type of tobacco to use in rolling a joint, because it has such a big effect on the taste and feel of the smoke in his opinion. Pure weed joints are perfect because nothing "extra" is in it to interfere with the sweet sweet taste of good weed, but then you have to roll small ones so you have to smoke it quickly and pass it around quickly. Which is cool and all, but it's less relaxed way to smoke socially and here in Europe anyway it seems like everybody rolls big tobacco joints.

Some kinds of tobacco are too harsh, i.e. Marlboro Reds, Lucky Strikes.

Other kinds have too much nicotine in them, which can overpower the cannabis due to nicotine buzz, and makes some people sick, i.e. full strength rolling tobaccos.

The best compromise SWIM thinks is using a light rolling tobacco like Drum Light, but he knows people who think ultra light cigarettes are the best like Silk Cut Ultra.

What are the DFers opinions about this?

There is no doubt that a 5 year old (or older) Montecristo #2 will yield the best results.

Cigarette tobacco is for the dogs.

Re: What is the best kind of tobacco to roll a joint with?

Technically, when it mixes cannabis with tobacco, it has a "spliff", not a "joint".

/nitpick

This one would suggest a high-quality pipe tobacco - one part tobacco, two parts cannabis, and it has a good smoke.
