Drug info - Understanding Mirapex (Pramipexole)

Swim has been searching around trying to understand what it is that Mirapex does, but he doesn't understand the chemistry based explanations. Swim has gathered that Mirapex is not recreational and is for PS, but what does it do (or not do) that makes it not recreational? Could it potentiate a certain class of drug? Swim knows its a full dopamine agonist, but what does that mean(compared to other drugs that affect dopamine levels, like cocaine)?
