I've read a lot of techniques describing how one could arrive at a crude form of mescaline by performing an alcohol extraction on dried cacti. There is good info in this teks, but some of them take almost two weeks, and i find that to be unnecessary! This one takes a day: 1. Put your dried powdered cacti flesh in a jar big enough to hold the cacti and an equal amount of solvent (no need to use cacti core) 2. Pour enough solvent into the jar so that it covers all the cacti, and you could fill it up a little higher for good measure. Use 99% isopropyl if you can find it - check electronics stores if it isn't at any grocery stores. The solvent will turn anywhere from a greenish yellow to a near black color. 3. Cap the lid tight, make sure it doesn't leak, and shake it like mad. Get some friction going. Let out some stress, don't hold back. Shake it for at least five minutes, the longer the better. 4. You have options here: Either decant the top layer with a turkey baster OR pour everything in the jar through a filter and squeeze the solvent out of the powder. The finer and more layered the filter, the less gooiness you will have in the end product. If you are going to decant you need to let the jar sit for 15-30 minutes or until the solvent has completely risen to the top leaving the powder below. 5. Place decanted solvent in another container. 6. Repeat steps 1-5 until your solvent starts to become a light green color. This should take around 6-8 pulls with 99% isopropyl, but it could take more. Note that for your last pull you definitely want to squeeze the powder in a filter instead of decant it. 7. Evaporate the solvent in a large baking dish with a fan blowing over it until the remaining tar seems completely devoid of isopropyl (you shouldn't be able to smell it), and then evaporate it a little longer for good measure. 8. Proportion the weight of your newly formed resin to the amount of dried powder you used, and dose accordingly. Rolling the resin in flour and then poppin it into the freezer for a little while helps with the taste. Notes: * In this method you will use more solvent than if you let the jar sit for days, so keep it in mind that you are sacrificing frugality for speed. * When I say shake the jar, I mean SHAKE! * This will not yield pure mescaline, and in the opinion of many that is a good thing as the experience of cacti extracted tar/goo vs. purified mescaline is not the same given the other alkaloids present in the cacti. * If you always filter the solvent and squeeze the powder instead of decanting, it will probably take less pulls to get out the goods. * Putting the container with all of your combined pulls in the fridge overnight will make some of the small cacti particles sink to the bottom. If you can decant off the solvent from this then it will make your final product that much purer. I wouldn't try to pour it off though, the powder tends to be very eager to mix.
