do the salvia divinorum leaves suck?
i have a 1/4 o of salvia leafs. I smoked 4 bowls of it, freakin
deep domed bowls, and used a bic lighter. I didnt feel anythin, kinda a slight buzz but thats it. Did i need to smoke lots more (or get the extract) or should i have used a butane torch light? |

You need to use a torch lighter and a big glass bong. It requires technique to get trippin off of leaves. They do not suck, they have enough power to scare the shit out of your friends to where they will never touch salvia again. Trust me. You just need to develop this technique it took me a while but I can get tripping off of leaves the same as with 5x extract. Torch up a full bong bowl in one huge hit, hold it in for 30seconds or as long as you can. Before you exhale have you or a friend load it up again exhale and repeat, until you reach that satisfied state of mind. Won't take that many hits if done right. I prefer a 3 foot bong.
The extract is cool and everything but people really underestimate the leaf. Get more time to know it my friend. Also the source you get it from plays some effect. |

Yes -- I've heard that a torch is a necessity for regular leaves, whereas extracts you can use a regular lighter. |

15 and 25 times extract you can use a regular lighter for, though I recomend a vaporizer.
if using regular leaf, make sure you hold it deep hit for at least the count of 15 if not 20 and also make sure you use a torch lighter and hold the flame on the leaf during the duration of the inhale. remember you want to vaporize the salvinorin a. |

Pinkavvy, swim generally prefers to avoid smoke and as such his salvia experiences have involved tincture or quid. He is very interested in using a vaporizer; however, he has heard several others claim that it does not work for salvia. Please write more about your method and experience using a vaporizer with salvia – do you use an electric vaporizer? Do you use the same method as using it with pot? Do you only use extract or also plain leaves?</span></span></span></span> Thanks!</span> |

dude you dont need to use a butane/torch lighter. just when you inhale, hold it for at least 20 seconds and make sure you inhaled A LOT. if you dont trip at all then do the torch/bong trick, it does work. I triped hard in the woods with just a bic lighter and a glass pipe.

Ive gotten 'there' with salvia with just a 15" glass bong and a lighter...like mentioned above you have the hold onto the smoke as long as you can, inhale the biggest hit possible. You'll need icewater if you can, and 2 or 3 bowlfuls. Do it right and you'll meet the Smelves ![]() Mezza |

I'm about to do some Salvia this week, as i have recently discovered a store that sells 30x 10 minutes away, (tho expensive, i'm gona see if it really is 30x, thats a pretty big boast if you ask me) anyways, i hear the leaves are good, and CHEAP (10-15 a oz over here) anyways, I hear success stories involving bics, you have to heat them for a few seconds first, AND REMEMBER WHAT ROBO COP said, you have to hold it in for a while the active ingrediant salivorin A needs some time to obsorb into your lungs, according to erowid i'd do about one gram of the leaves, nice bang for your buck if theres no luck, extract the salivorin a useing acetone or something, fun stuff |

I've gone through about 3 grams so far and have not been able to break
through, I'm using a pipe and a butane torch. I burned my throat pretty bad the first time but only managed to reach a sort of "spacey" state after 8 bowls. No body sensations or visuals. Whats the best way to use it orally? As in chewing and holding in cheek. |

YEA it worked, but just barely. I had about 4 bowls (deep bowl
can fit 1 gram of marijuana) and used a bic lighter. I barely felt it, i looked in the mirror and saw myself as half gorilla half human, then looked at a dresser drawer and when i turned around everything looked like it was in squares and shit. My first trip was good but prolly nothing compared to lsd and shrooms. |

You really should use a butane lighter with leaves, far more effective. Bic lighter works alright for 10x extract or higher.Edited by: RoboCop

people just don't listen with salvia
or give it a chance after one time with a bad lighter and a bad pipe (for salvia) or even worse a joint they don't touch the stuff anymore people just need to be more patient and see what salvia really has to say to you paul |

You're right about that man. I tried it in the woods once with
some friends and a freshmen that got some from his older bro that graduated. It was leaves and I guess an extract you were supposed to mix with the leaves, we tried with a regular lighter and a pipe, didn't do anything. We thought it was just some jacked legal herb. All these reports have made me think otherwise, so I think I might just give it a try again... |
