Re: Poppy pod gel caps?
No idea. SWIM can only remember one other person talking about taking it in gel caps. SWIM would advise taking a look on the search feature and seeing what he had to say.
Peace

He does not recommend it. He had to swallow about 50 of them to feel anything, and the effects had a very long onset, and were more of a vaguely sedating kind of feeling than a euphoria. This feeling also lasted for well over 5 hours. Fat told me it's not worth it. He had a difficult time swallowing the 50+ pills and did not enjoy the effects. Now, making gel caps with "cooked flake opium" is another story entirely. Horselover Fat would love to try this, but he hasn't yet had the time to experiment with CFO. samuraigecko may be able to report on what he has heard about SWIYers eating pieces of CFO. |

Re: Poppy pod gel caps?
My little dog did just that very thing today. A huge jumbo pod makes about 15 capsules if packed tightly. Just grind them up into super fine powder she says. She says the trouble is the time consuming effort it takes to fill the caps, good thing is no taste, and she had to eat about 30 of them to get going. Within an hour she was feeling great,.....happy little girl.

Re: Poppy pod gel caps?
Eating the pods, whether capped or not is often stronger, and has a longer duration than simply making tea, as all the alkaloids are ingested, and the intestines have opiate receptors, SWIM believes (read it somewhere), that can increase the effectiveness of the dose. Also, taking them with some grapefruit juice can also increase the effects, and there are other OTC medications that can also potentiate opiates.

On the other hand, Fat can say that this is excellent for curbing withdrawals, because of the extremely long duration. However, he says, this is more like pushing WDs away for a time, rather than easing through them and letting them dissipate. I have only heard of one individual, whose story was reported in this forum, who successfully tapered off opiates using poppy pod material. Fat has never had the willpower! |

Re: Poppy pod gel caps?
Someone who isn't me had an interesting technique for getting the benefits of grounds, without those negatives of longer and more gradual come-on. Quite simply he'd do both, he'd gakk his way through a sizeable pile of grounds, while steeping the PT for consumption soonish after. Hardly big or clever as SWIM sure it's easy to misjudge dosages, but it worked. Best of both worlds... albeit with 2x nausea to go with it.
He's hoping he wont start doing this again, tolerance was pretty high back then, and it was such an effort to bring himself to drink the tea after forcing all that plant matter into his long-suffering stomach. It's probably not recommended. Better to keep those gaps between usage, and the tolerance way down instead. Cheaper too. Akki |

Re: Poppy pod gel caps?
Hmmm, so can anyone comment on the question of eating opium flake? Swim is intrigued due to the fact he has some poppies growing and really wants to know the best way of introduction, as he has never tried opium, opium flake, or pod tea...

Start small and work SWIY's way up. There can be enormous differences in tolerance from person to person. With no experience, SWIY won't know his initial tolerance, which could be anything. Dabbling in flake opium as a first encounter with opium can be asking for trouble, Fat says. |

Re: Poppy pod gel caps?
Ok, swim says thanks! And just for the record, swim has tried pst, jus not pod tea, and swim also has an opiate tolerance that is through the roof, but he will do as suggested and start slow!

Re: Poppy pod gel caps?
Good idea, since pod tea in itself can be much more potent than seed tea. So even if SWIYou are experienced with seed tea, SWIYou will probably need to adjust accordingly to the new quantities of pod tea that SWIYou will need to take.
