Social - Heroin etiquette

Hi Kids,

I looked through the threads and couldn't find one like this.
The Bonehead has been shootin' heroin for about forty years now and in the old days there was a thing known as Heroin etiquette. These dern kids just don't seem to have heard of it. Just jokin', all you youngsters.

Anyway, The bonehead was wondering if any of you out there have any etiquette rules of your own. Here's one of his...

1) Man, you don't go into a junkies house when he's dope sick, borrow his works, get high in front of him and not give him any.
2) You don't say you're gonna get someone high and say you'll be right back and then don't show.
3) If the person who's dreadfully sick is waiting, don't fiddle around with the dope and the works for fifteen minutes being an inconsiderate ass wipe.
4) Don't make a junkie wait needlessly. As Tom Petty puts it...The waiting is the hardest part!

Roll with it folks...and if you don't mind, can you add your age?

LOL SWIM used to always listen to that Tom Petty song when he was waiting for dope ...

Good thread topic by the way ... here's a couple more:

- If you are out in the ghetto and need to get a random person to take you to a spot, you buy them a bag.
- If you need a ride to the dope spot from one of your friends, you buy them at least a bag, maybe 2 depending on the distance.

- If you are picking up / getting / delivering bags for someone, negotiate what you are willing to do it for, don't go in their bags for your "profit."

ah. swims theory back in the day, was not to get drugs for other people. most dealers dont want you to take new people with you, and if theyre not happy with the bag, then you can get wrongly accused with tampering with it. too many headfucks involved.

the one thing that shat swim to tears then, was if someone owed her money, and they went to score rather than pay her back. that and people who didnt return the taste after she shouted them.

All the things that people are stating here unfortunately most junkys in his area seem to do and not care much to be honest.

He can see how it happens though (not sorting those who have sorted SWIY) as the more it happens to a person the more they think well the next person who sorts him fuck them.

Oh yeah, it's definitely true that most junkies won't voluntarily do any of these things if they think they can get away with it. SWIM over the years has had to learn many verbal/mental/physical techniques to enforce "etiquette" aka "status quo behavior."

moral codes tend to differ quite a bit in the world of heroin. mostly swiys are better off keeping to themselves/close associates, and not being so generous with their scores. only repay tastes to those whove shouted you previously.

Yeah when copping in the streets if someone takes you to the spot buy them a bag, Also store swiys bags in a safe place to not put the spot in jeopardy.

Don't rip people off. I mean, if SWIY has to do it to get straight, at least make it someone who they'll never see again. In SWIM's experience, if you don't fuck people over then they will come back again and again, providing essential rides to the spot or hooking SWIY up for scoring for them. This can be very helpful on those slow days. Plus it's probably a good idea in general to minimize being a douchebag, if not for direct personal gain like in the scenario above, then at least for karma or whatever.
