In the late 80s - early 90s the drug U4euh/4MAR/4 methyl aminorex became popular and because of its specific effect profile still holda a cache. All 4 possible isomers are active and can be made quite simply from HNCO (isocyanic acid) which is in turn made from KOCN (postassium cycnate) by addind HCl. The following steps (all 1 pot) are confirred on the mixture:
1- substituted urea is formed
2- more acid yields 4MAR hydrochloride (also an amide side-product) which is A/B extracted.
3- freebase 4MAR is made by carefully adding a weak base. The crystals seel a little soapy but are not alkali.

Yield is about 78% and using AB to extract makes a purer product. I tried it in The Netherlands but it best any other stimulant hands-down. Og course, you can chase the freebase for a VERY rapid onset. plain AR is about 4x more potent than MAR but it loses its individually. On the plus side, it should be very simple to make substituted ARs. The precursors are easy to obtain and non-suspicious. UK law wouldn't cover them, that I do know.
