Drug info - Benzo's for ending an LSD trip?

Hey, SWIM would like any opinions about which benzodiazepines are the most effective when it comes to the ending of a trip, specifically LSD

As much as SWIM savours and enjoys acid he hates feeling lost and mentally exhausted after such an extensive journey.

So it's around 8 o'clock in the morning and SWIM wants to be able to relax and consider sleeping..... whats the most effective benzo(or anything) to take for this? would something like temazepam be as effective as say diazepam or alprozoram? would a Z drug be effective?

any opinions and/or experiances would be great

For getting knocked out into blissful and wonderful sleep, zolpidem worked the best for SWIM. It lost much of its effect in about two weeks, it should not be considered for frequent employment.

There are a few other 'benzodiazepine-like' meds which focus on sleep (like zolpidem) which sound the best for SWIM if he wants to be unconscious :P

For ending the psychedelic trip almost any benzo or Z drug will do. Alprazolam seems to be a good choice because of its combination of anxiolysis and sedation, seems like a total KO and nice ending to a psychedelic adventure.

To each his own, SWIM was able to fall asleep much faster with Zolpidem than Alprazolam. The latter had the ability to warp an unwarned and unprepared SWIM into a benzodiazepine zombie :P He had to be careful, or he would be unable to fall asleep in this state of polymorphism.

Thanks for the replys so far guys. I wasn't sure if i should of posted this thread in the psychedelic vault or not, but SWIM wanted to understand the effects of certain benzo's more for a couple of reasons;

Sometimes larger doses of acid, state of mind and setting can start to bring on fairly strong anxiety around 8-9 hours into SWIM's trip. He starts to feel pretty anxious and he has a very awkward body feeling which can then lead to a panic attack, or the thought of having one. i have to stand up and walk around just to calm myself down and manage it. the thought of sleep seems impossible at this point as i feel a weird sort of pressure in my head, not a headache just mental exhaustion.

SWIM doesn't necessary want something to knock him out... he's already exhausted. he wants to relax for an hour, have some breakfast and then go to bed.

Another reason SWIM needs to know more about benzodiazepines and downers is because for half of his life he's been with the same doc. he has seen him on the occasion over the years for varies things where he's wrote SWIM a script for AD's, benzo's and Z drugs. i don't think i'd be comfortable asking him for something specific, and i'd be even more less willing to say what it's for!

So my question now would be what are some of the more calming and relaxing whilst still sedating drugs? SWIM was given some Temazepam recently, and even more recently SWIM was given 25/5mg Nitrazepam. these are both hypnotics right? SWIM tried a recreational dose of 80mg of Temazepam and he found it to be a little subtle but also just a genuinely good feeling, didn't feel tired at all though....which was good for what he wanted, but was a 3rd of the prescription

This tripper who i met wont be taking the liquid until next weekend, so he's got some time to look around a bit. any advice or personal experience would be wicked, cheers

The main anxiolytic benzodiazepines in use (according to a list on wiki) are:

Alprazolam
Bromazepam
Clonazepam
Lorazepam
Diazepam
Chlordiazepoxide
Clorzepate
Medazepam
Nordazepam
Prazepam

What I think swiy is looking for is a benzodiazepine with significant anxiolytic but also with sedating qualities. Each benzodiazepine has a different affinity for GABA-A subunits. Alpha-1 for sedation, amnesia etc, Alpha-2 and 3 for anxioytic action. Alprazolam is a great anxiolytic at low doses and in my pet's experience sedating but not to a great degree. The problem with it though is its duration is extremely short, only three hours for him with some lingering sedation for a few more hours. Diazepam is also a great benzodiazepine with great muscle relaxant effects, anxiolysis, and sedation. The problem with diazepam (or pro, depends on who one asks) is its long duration and half life. Diazepam could leave swiy with a feeling of low energy and sedation upon awaking. Based on my pet's experience he could either recommened lorazepam which he finds is a nice balance, or alprazolam in low doses.

Just about any benzo can help one relax and fall asleep after an acid trip. SWIM likes valium or xanax, if/when desired.

Hey thanks for that. Valium is something My Marmoset should be able to get hopefully.

the other 2 seem very hard to get a script for. but valium would be fine seeing as how the marmoset fell like sleeping for a long time after an exhausting journey. Tamazepam is something she should be able to get a script for too, just wondering if this hypnotic will do the trick effectively?

The rodent thinks she know the answer to this already, but does dissolving under your tongue of benzo's work faster than orally? She'd almost certainly have an empty stomach at the time from the acid.

Sup guys, SWIM has a question. SWIM heard that benzos can stop or calm a bad lsd trip. Thing is, SWIM doesnt react well with benzos, they make him all dizzy and kinda pissed off and in a bad mood. Even if they do this, would they still stop or calm his LSD trip, or make it worse?
