Addiction - Exactly how addicting is cocaine

Well, SWIM is thinking about trying cocaine for the first time but he knows that cocaine can be very addicting. SWIM doesn't want to get addicted his first time because cocaine is very expensive and he wants to try it just once. So SWIM is wondering would it be alright if he tries it just once then doesn't do it again or will SWIM be addicted?

it is not that addicting. its can be addicting but you wont be addicted from jsut one time. addiction is something that isnt instance. you may really enjoy the drug. but you are not addicted just really want to do it again and then becoome addicted

That's what SWIM is scared of. He's not sure if he will want to do it so bad a second time that he ends up doing it and he becomes addicted.

yeah the only addiction will be a mind addiction really. swiy wont need the drug after one time use but swiy may really want it which could lead to addiction. just buy a small amount

Cocaine forms a very circumstantial addiction over a long period of time. SWIY may find it easy to not have cocaine in situations where SWIY is not used to, but SWIY may conversely be dying for some in a different situation where SWIY uses it often.

Swim may be an acception but he feels that he certainly was addicted after the first time he did it. He didn't use every day as funds were innsufficient but after that first line payday became about one thing coke.Scoring coke sniffing coke getting more staying up all night robbing to get more etc definatly addicted. His taste in drugs has changed but he feels that his cocaine use which started at about 15 layed all the ground work for his current and massive heroin addiction

Those people expecting an experience out of the drug will be disappointed. The effects are more complementary than that.

That's a good description of cocaine addictive properties and SWIM can relate to that.

In my experience you just can't do cocaine once, you will repeat. In SWIM's case, he disliked cocaine the first time he did it. Then, months later, he thought he was through with cocaine but he was offered some in a party. Despite the first time made him feel edgy and uncomfortable, he couldn't refuse the offer and he did some lines and he felt awesome, so he ended up buying a gram and scoring it with some friends.

Since then he's never stopped using it, with a little self-control but as Chinpocomaster said there are certain situations where cocaine calls and it can't be ignored.

Advice: tell your panda not to try it, though I'm positive he will anyway, just have in mind that cocaine is indeed, very addictive.

cocaine can be a bitch, its not that addicting initially, you feel you can control it no problem but your mind plays tricks on you and before you know it you must "diet" down on usage.

as with every addictive substance never combine it with everyday activities, the trick to not getting adicted is to treat the drug as an experience on its own and not something augmenting a boring, frustrating, repetative or everyday habit.

If used as something on its own, with sufficient breaks it can be fun, but again, show the utmost respect.

Things to make you think twice about using cocaine are these:

Are you an addictive personality?
Have you ever had other addictions?
Do you think cocaine use will solve some kind of problem (depression, shyness, introversion)?
Do you have other rewarding and fulfilling habits besides partying?
Do you have a regular steady job that you actually enjoy doing?

If you answer positively for any of these questions then you should rethink using cocaine.

SWIM personally finds cocaine to be very temping rather than experiencing cravings, but this can generally be kept under control as long as you are able to do so before it becomes a problem.

It is easy for cocaine use to become a habit because you get used to doing it before or during certain activities, and then associate the coke effects with that activity.

If SWIY is worried they'll like it, and not be able to control it, then they probably shouldn't try it. There is probably only two outcomes, either SWIY likes it and wants to use it again, which is a tricky line to walk to stay away from addiction, or SWIY doesn't like it much and doesn't care to use it again, which only serves to have a different experience that one may not enjoy.

Cocaine doesn't give extreme physical withdrawal, but can cause extreme cravings and mental withdrawal, which can sometimes be harder to conquer than the physical withdrawal with some other drugs.

SWIM does know people who enjoy using cocaine but only do it on special occasions, and they have perfect control over it. If SWIY thinks they may be one of these people, than it may be worth a try, but if SWIY has doubts, probably best to stay away.

Swim hasn't done it, but has heard that the high lasts for about 30-60minutes, and once you start coming down, you crave it, hard. Swim's friend says if you can do it ONCE and resist that comedown craving, you'll be good. Stay mentally strong, don't be around supplies of that shit either.

There are quite a few variables in this situation. Do you have willpower? Can you say no to something you don't want to do? Among various others..
I've found it rather easy to only dable with coke once or twice a year. While a few friends use it once or twice a week.. What are you looking to gain from the experience? If your using it just because your bored then I'd advise you to stay away as that will increase addiction potential.

Cocaine for swim was like that girl in high school who you adored. After the first line it's just as if she's calling for you. You shake your head and shrug it off. But after a few more visits you start believing she actually wants you.

Cocaine isn't a one hit thing. It's a continuation of habits that exceed your willpower. SWIY might be thinking that using for here and there to get a little energy but it won't stay like that.

It's kind of like everything. After you get a taste of it and start developing a habit, you'll feel a huge desire to fulfill your brains request. It's not like smack where you need it to avoid withdrawals, it's more of a need than a want.

SWIM has done about 4 grams on 4 different occasions in their life. Each time they tried it to see if it had any effect, and each time they were incredibly letdown by it. Having already tried MDMA and Pills, SWIM was expecting something spectacular too, it wasn't. The effects were very subtle and just left SWIM wondering how anyone could become addicted to it.

SWIM doesn't think SWIY will become addicted just by trying it once or twice.

Swim doesn't think it's that addicting as a drug, however if put in the wrong persons hands you can have a much different story. If you are going to try this then make sure you only get enough for one bump that night and let that be the end of it. If you can't just buy enough for one hit, sell the rest to a friend for cheap or give it away. From swim's experience, the first time you take it on a night you're okay on the come down, after the second and third time you/your body starts wanting it again more and more.

When swim picks up its rare that his dealers have anything worth buying more of.

What SWIM does is buys grams at a time, when he finds something he likes, he instantly goes big (half ounce or more) before the dealer runs out.

FYI most coke out there is absolute shit! Prob why most people don't enjoy it.

Swim finds coke one of the things he says he's not doin any more after a night on it, and can easily stick to it.......... until its offered to him, then u can never say no. and once swim's had that first line, that they didnt pay for, its straight to buyin some ha. It's a bit of a bugger really. I think the main reason its so hard to say no to is the fact its so subtle that it can be done in public settings around non users, can you imagine tryin to hide the fact you've had a few E's???? but with cola you can be dusting all night n noone would bat an eye.
