The Cato Institute is a major "think tank" in the US, and while "non-partisan" is generally conservative/ libertarian leaning.
One of their members has published an editorial which in short makes the argument that marijuana laws are so draconian in most of the US that people are scared to speak out. Or to put it another way, a huge portion of the population smokes pot, but few realize it because everyone must keep their use hidden. His arguement is that this much change, and he finishes the piece saying " We'll make real progress when solid, upstanding folk come out of the cannabis closet, heads held high.
So here we go. My name is Will Wilkinson. I smoke marijuana, and I like it."

I can not yet post links here so please check out cato dot org or google cato and "i smoke marijuana and I like it"
I must respect the mans willingness to self incriminate, self incrimination also played a major role in gay rights. While I respect and for the most part agree with the non-selfincrimination here, I will say I agree with this man that in the realm of the marijuana legalization/decriminalization fight self incrimination is necessary for change
