Prolonging Percs Effects
My butler Jeeves has had a script for the last 5 years for Percoset 10 mgs 4 times a day. His Dr. refils it every 25 days. This gives Jeeves about 20 pills over his pain relieving needs. Jeeves has had some sucess in prolonging the high. It takes about 45 minutes arter swallowing for the high to hit on an empty stomach. The high lasts about 3 hours. Grapefruit juice has a slight potentiating effect but not a lot. Tum prolongs the high for about 1/2 hour. Jeeves Dr. prescribed Meclizine for his dizziness. Jeeves noticed that taking the Meclazine at the same time as the Percs adds about 45 minutes to an hour to te effect of the Percs. This give him an extra hour and a quarter to enjoy the high.
He then takes the first 3 of the day at 2-1/2 hour intervals. Oxy's half life then stretches the good feeling for a couple of hours longer. Using this methoid Jeeves can take care of his pain and still get he enjoyment of Oxy. By the way, Jeeves has been taking this med with 325mg of APA 4 to 8 times day for the last 5 years and all his blood tests continue to show normal. Jeeves has tested thiss mehod on himself and wanted to pass it on. He would apreciatre hearing from anyone who tries it it or does something similar ro prolong the good feeling of Oxy;l This forum has been beery helpful t Jeeves and he is glad of a chance to contribute. He hopes this info is useful. |

Re: Prolonging Percs Effects
A tagament 1/2 to 1 hour before hand helps a bit, but if SWIyou are taking tums and that works SWIM would say stick with that. Perc's generally blow at lasting as long as one would want but they sure do their job as intended even if only in short intervals.

Re: Prolonging Percs Effects
I think SWIOP meant APAP, which is otherwise known as Tylenol/Acetamenaphine.

Re: Prolonging Percs Effects
SWIM recently broke is nose and has had a script for perc 5/325s. He has been popping 2 of them every 4 hours, and finds that nicotine from cigarettes (not from chewing tobacco, acetaminophen causes dry mouth so this could be uncomfortable) will boost the effects and make them last a little bit longer.

Re: Prolonging Percs Effects
That's the biggest problem with short-acting opes: that they're short acting.
SWIM has tried quinine to potentiate her pod tea, but it ended up making her sick after a while and the effect wasn't really that noticeable. Another thing SWIM hates about short-acting opiates like hydro and oxy is the extreme drowsiness she gets when the euphoria wears off. Even one 5mg. hydrocodone will have her snoring after about 40 minutes, and she HATES it. Everything else about pills is great
