Other - Swim's friend just got ripped off buying weed at Kensington Market

so yeah, swim's friend just showed swim this bundle that was wrapped in garbage bag type wrapping, when he showed it to swim he thought there was weed inside but when he opened it up there was nothing inside just crumpled up paper towel. He told swim he gave the guy $XX. He just came back from Kensington Market. Has this happened to anyone else recently? swim is telling his friend to just forget about it but he's really pissed off right now. He wants swim and some other of swim's friends to go back with him to get his money back, but i think its pretty dumb to go pick a fight with some shady guy he doesn't even know just over $XX. anyways, just a heads up to any swiy, if swiy buy weed at kensington make sure its in a clear baggie, so swiy can see what swiy is getting. swim doesn't really buy weed that often (swim is more of a cigarette and alcohol guy), but the times swim has at kensington swim has never been ripped off so swim is also suspect about if what swim's friend is telling swim is true. swim was just wondering if this has happened to any other swiy recently?

true dat. swim's friend seems genuinly upset though so swim isn't sure. swim told his friend that unfortunately he needs to let it go, cut his losses. swim offered to give his friend $XX if he's that upset over it but swim's friend was yelling at swim calling swim a pussy when swim offered him the $XX.

Buyer beware. SWIY friend should take this idiotic move and chalk it up as a lesson learned. Trying to go pick a fight with someone who obviously didn't care about ripping someone off will probably, most likely, end up even worse than losing $XX.

The lesson here is never buy any drugs without checking out the goods. Never put money in anyone's hand until the goods are verified and placed in SWIY's hands. Can't think of how many times SWIM has saw some naive person give some shady person their money thinking, "Okay, he's just gonna run in that house or around the corner and come back with SWIM's stuff." 9 times out of 10, the pesron will never return or return with fake shit. Often times it ends up with a gun being pulled or something similar.

SWIM suggests being a lot more cautious in the future and always make sure SWIY is getting what they are paying for. If SWIY doesn't give them a chance to screw em, then they'll probably have a lot better experience in the future. As for the "pussy" remark, SWIM would respond, "At least I'm not the idiot who bought a paper towel for $XX!" LOL

swim and some of swim's friend made sure swim's pissed off friend didn't go back and do anything stupid. fortunately swim's pissed off friend has cooled off now and we were able to convince him it wasn't worth it to go back and try to get his money back. we told swim's pissed off friend that we'd treat him to some drinks and food at a pub later on to make up for what he lost. thankfully swim's friend is cool now and realizes he was being a jerk off.
