UK - Arrested for possesion advice needed

K, swim went on a trip to manchester(UK)(5hrs from where swim lives) and after a few beers got ejected from an event for smoking a cigaette inside. Swim was trying 2 persuade bouncers too allow him to re enter the event when the police showed up(swim is a little unsure of events as he was at the time under the influence of ketamine and alcohol) and searched him. they found 3 zip seals bags in swims pocket containing white powder, 2 of which were ketamine, the other cocaine, each containing less than a gram.

Swim was arrested @ 10pm, taken to police station and put into cell at around midnight. swim was interviewed at approx 5:15am and claimed all 3 bags were ketamine. swim has been bailed to appear back in manchester in 6 weeks, pending analysis of the substances, police station in the morning, then court in the afternoon. Swim was wondering what will happen if the analysis comes back as cocaine for 1 of the bags. will swim still go to court that day or be bailed 2 reappear again? what should swim do?

also, swim has been caught twice in the past for cannabis resin, 1st time about 6 yrs ago for 50 odd grammes,(personal) conditional discharge 12 months. 2nd time about 3 -4 yrs ago 40 odd grammes of resin (again personal) and had a fine and conviction. what should swim expect.

Swim is reluctant for his job details to be published in the local papers as he works for a large company with branches everywhere! as swim was caught some distance from home, and his name wont be recognised can swim tell his solicitor not to mention his employers name, or is it advisable to just lie outright and say he works for a different company ie a small indepent car garage or something similar, even though he told the poilce a different occupation? any help or advice would be much appreciated guys , swim is so angry with himself its unbeivable!

I don't even think you have to tell the police anything about where you work.
Swim lied about what uni course he was on and if swim ever did get busted again swim would also lie about the job that he has.
The only thing about lying about your job is that it could effect your bail.

in what way could it affect SWIM's bail (apologies for my ignorance!) and do they think he should be expecting community service or what?

I don't believe they usually publish your occupation. Just your name and address.

Be prepared for the filth not having got the results back for your first bail appearance. It took them 3 times to arrange SWIMS and they never bothered contacting him, he had to go every time only to be told "come back in another 2 months".

when swim was arrested the first time for canna he had a whole article with two colums devoted to him(granted it was only the local rag once a week thingy full of adverts) with name, age, address, occupation,employer and a brief rundown of events during the arrest and what was sed. nightmare!

I think the job thing could be to asses if your a risk to jump bail and skip town.
But I guess it all depends on the offence.
