spit or swallow tobacco juice?

every time i smoke cigarettes, my mouth builds up a lot of spit and i
have to spit constantly. most people say that they "dont let the spit
build up", so they swallow it. I would have no problem swallowing my
spit, but i still do try to care for my health. Would swallowing my
spit be much of a health hazard? Thanks.
