SWIDNM worries about phone/text records

{DISCLAIMER: I know there have been other posts on this topic, and have read all I could find for my friend, but am specifically asking if anyone has similar experience...}

A friend of mine, SWIDNM, is very worried about possible exposure to police attention. His friend (AFOAF), just got busted for breaking the law concerning the use and selling of illegal something or others. SWIDNM is worried because AFOAF's cell phone was confiscated by the local police.

There were some text messages that SWIDNM had written to AFOAF, which could be totally misinterpreted by the police. There was even a recent text in which SWIDNM offered to pick something up for AFOAF at the grocery store, which one could misconstrue as distribution, SWIDNM thinks. SWIDNM feels like a fool and will never be so dumb again, he told me.

SWIDNM also said that he has, in the past, called or texted some unfortunate people he was trying to help reform, and done so at odd hours of the night and day. Some of these poor souls have been arrested for selling illegal things in the same city SWIDNM lives in. SWIDNM wonders if his name might already be on a "Persons of Interest" list due to THEIR phone records... These were all more business acquaintances, really, not friends.
