Zopiclone not that harmless as claimed ?

Quote:
Zopiclone, a benzodiazepine-like drug was introduced and initially promoted as having less dependence and withdrawal than traditional benzodiazepine drugs. However, zopiclone may have an even greater addictive potential than benzodiazepines and has been described as a "benzodiazepine in disguise".[74][75][76] Tolerance to the effects of zopiclone can develop after a few weeks. Long term use should be avoided. Abrupt withdrawal particularly with prolonged and high doses can in severe cases cause seizures and delirium.[77][78]

By the way: TT did this thread an hour ago, but it didn't appear. Then
he checked the "statistics" in his profile, and the thread was not listed.
So he might did not click on the submit button or the thread was de-
leted, but for what reason? Anyway, he tries posting it again.

Re: Zopiclone not that harmless as claimed ?

their length of action and pharmokinetics mean that they (z drugs) are addictive. it all boils down to the GABA chloride receptor. when that receptor is agonized for long periods of time by a chemical, synthetic or not, the human body makes certain adjustments to maintain homeostasis. these adjustments are the very essence of chemical dependence.

There is a significant amount of evidence that Z-drugs cause dependence
