Cocaine analogs and tropocaine / tropacocaine
Just posting to see if anybody has actually tried these things. Particularly I am talking about phenyltropane and p-fluorophenyltropane.

I can only assume that this is quite rare. It is interesting that no-one has reported taking these analogs other than what has been done on rats.

All I could find was reference to the "strawberry" cocaine thread. What exactly were you referring to?? |

Re: Tropocaine
Do you mean Tropacocaine?
If yes, in the book "Cocaine. A drug and its social evolution" by L.Grinspoon and James B. Bakalar, it says that it has stimulating and analgesic effects. So the effects of tropacocaine would be at least similar to cocaine. Never tried it though. |

Re: Tropocaine
Swim is not sure, maybe it's a mistake of the poster
http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22900 It can explain why swim hasn't find the tropocaine formula. |

Re: Tropocaine
In the post you linked to the title says "tropocaine" and in the actual post it is called "tropacaine". It is probably tropacocaine. Use google for further information.

Re: Cocaine Analogs and tropocaine / tropacocaine
Yes it is spelt Tropacocaine, and yes it's effects are very similar to cocaine. Tropacocaine is actually a component in certain strains of Coca (Java Coca), though it can be synthesized from nightshade plants (as described in Otto Snows book) it can also be synthesized from methylamine, succinaldehyde (or substitute), acetone, and benzoyl- chloride. SWIP yielded a few grams of Tropacocaine after extracting and synthesizing an entire grocery bag full of nightshade seeds, so it's not really practical, just possible. The methylamine/benzoyl-chloride method does not suffer from this flaw, as the reactions produce yields in the 90% range, making it a multi-kilo synth. Not bad for something that most people think doesn't exist.

Re: Cocaine analogs and tropocaine / tropacocaine
I know of people eating the freebase. It is supposed to be tricky to make a salt from. 50% as potent as cocaine (seemed right) and long acting (for sure) and, it would seem, legal.
