Now before i start SWIM uses LSD every 2 or 3 weeks with last saturday being a time when he did. A couple of days ago SWIM was talking to a friend about trying out shrooms, as swim has been wanting to for a while and this years crop is just starting. That night soon after this conversation SWIM had an extremely lucid and interesting dream. Now SWIM doesnt know how many people believe dreams offer insight but SWIM thinks they do if they are interpreted correctly, so SWIM was hoping that someone could help him out.
The dream was that SWIM climbed the stairs of this mayan or aztec looking construction untill he reached the top where an alter sort of table thing was. This alter was made out of stone and had psychedelic patterns carved all over it, except for the top of it where there was this stone face that had its mouth wide open, as if it was screaming. Then all of a sudden this liquid started coming out of the mouth and covered the surface on the top of the alter. This liquid was bright yellow, then when it had covered the surface it suddenly turned reflective, like a mirror. SWIM looked at his reflection and something didnt seem right about it. Then SWIM put his hand through the mirror and then his own hand came through from the other side of the mirror and grabbed SWIMS arm. Then SWIM looked up and the sun was in an eclipse, only the eclipse was caused by a meteor that soon came crashing down to earth, but there was no explosion, it just came to rest. SWIM cannot remember the rest. Does anybody know what this dream means? It was one of the most amazing dreams SWIM has ever had. |

Re: Psychedelic dreams (can someone interpret this?)
I suggest you take a look at this: http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/
Obviously the symbols here are not what they might represent to you, so its up to you to find out what they mean. I have been recording my dreams lately, and various patterns have emerged. In my dreams the patterns are; resorts/summer camp/boarding school, hot girls at store counters, Nazis (officers mess), standing on a dock/canoe looking at a lake with my blind great uncle. I have also been dreaming about (smuggling) carbohydrates. For example, looking at the lake represents reflection, while the boat could represent a need to traverse this reflection (of self). A blind man supposedly represents a (potentially) missed oppertunity, which is funny because I have had trouble lately "commiting" to relationships, and my blind great uncle told me (in real life) that he really wishes he had the chance to fall in love, and not to spend my youth lusting or being afraid of love. I suggest you put a notepad and pen next to your bed, and when you're just awake, start writing words/ideas. |

Re: Psychedelic dreams (can someone interpret this?)
Just assumption:
Stone - memory Face - outlook Mouth - organ of best potency in SWIM "self-changing/manipulating" - most controlable... organ of ingestion. Arm - organ of best potency in anyone (SWIM's too?) "outer world-changing/manipulating" - most precise (fingers) Altar - place where SWIM have his own identity. Mayan-structure - collective properties of humans. Not SWIM-specific. - Pyramid like "evolution" or... "contentisation of smaler-space (quadrats, on top) in greater-space (q. too, bottom)" and ground as symbol for natura morta/non-civilized(non-human/psychical, but grounding for it?...) nature? Sun as numinous/unavoidable (drives, "insticts"... most wished and indispensably) Ungrounded stone - repressed memory (Freud theory ect.) that hide the Sun (see Sun) ect. What about curved psychodelic... ? tijaninpij added 0 Minutes and 51 Seconds later... better: Face - consciousness (just outlook of psyche, ect...) Last edited by tijaninpij; 10-05-2009 at 11:33. Re: Psychedelic dreams (can someone interpret this?)
Well... as already said, the best person for interpret swiy dreams is swiyourself, as they know better than us what the symbols may mean for swiy. Anyway, i will risk an interpretation.
I would say that this dream was about the mushrooms, maybe even a "trailer" of swiys upcoming trip. Climbing the stairs of the aztec construction would mean to ingest the mushrooms (as they were usually used ritually by the aztecs). The psychedelic patterns carved there seems to confirm this. The stone face would be the "spirit" of the mushrooms (that something that somehow "talks" to one, that "put the deep insights inside ones mind", etc), and the liquid coming from its mouth would be its "words" (or rather insights, or thoughts), which would allow swiy to see things from a different view, which is represented by the mirror like surface of it. It could also allow swiy to see things about swiyourself, and maybe this things wouldnt be exactly what swiy thinks, so it would seem to swiy that there was something in his reflection that didnt seemed right. I dont know exactly what the rest may mean, as it is too vague, or maybe i just dont know what the symbols mean. Anyway, tell swiy to tell me, after his experience with the mushrooms, if this piece of interpretation was actually right... |

Re: Psychedelic dreams (can someone interpret this?)
Though SWIM is no dream interpreter (such a person might be a pretentious twat who thinks they have all the answers, for a small fee of course!), the dream described sounds somewhat traumatic which is an indicator that you need to improve your sleep quality. Possible after effects of LSD use though, more likely, a result of body temperature being too hot or too cold during sleep.

Re: Psychedelic dreams (can someone interpret this?)
On the contrary, this dream was not traumatic at all, SWIM enjoyed every second of it

Re: Psychedelic dreams (can someone interpret this?)
Your hand going through the mirror and coming out and grabbing your arm is interesting, because it was YOUR hand that went in... What I find interesting is what/who came out.
Was the extruding hand pulling you in, or trying to keep you from going in any deeper? You said the liquid was yellow... This liquid could be many of things, and possibly something outside of human perception, and it might be foolish to try to compare it with any material thing. It could be gold, or vomit coming out of its mouth. The meteor represents the apocalypse or death, I am quite confident about that. How it did not destroy anything is also interesting, it is a symbol of unity, and oneness with death. |

Re: Psychedelic dreams (can someone interpret this?)
Quote:
But that does not change the fact that it is capable of interpretation. Trip can be interpretadet to... Trip = dream ![]() Well, read books, read Freud, read others... find by yourself, then share with us, and then give to SWIM some more mescaline again, and againt try to interpretate, and so on ![]()
