It seems there's alot of confusion about the different forms oxycodone comes. Many familiar forms would be Oxycontin, roxicodone and Perks. Having that be said, oxycodone is the active ingredient in all three but each is different in the way it manufactured. Perks are simple oxycodone with Tylenol. Roxicodone is oxycodone without Tylenol in a instant release form. Oxycontic is oxycodone without Tylenol in an Extended release form. Most would agree that perks are almost useless compared to the other two. Where Roxi and Oxy differ is in the release process. If one whats to orally take either, the Roxi will immediately dump the contents into the system. Oxy has a time released coating, causing it to gradually release smaller amounts over a 12 hour period, ultimately releasing the total amount of oxycodone spread out over that time. So in short, Orally.... Roxi more intense but short lived. Oxy, less intense but effects are felt longer. If you'd rather powder them and snort them, there is no difference. You are now dealing with just oxycodone in both cases.
I think alot of the confusion is also due the fact that Roxi's stop at 30mgs. The reason they do this is because beyond that amount its rather unsafe to simply DUMP all 30mgs of oxycodone into your system. SO.... starting at 40mgs they put a time released coating on it to gradually supply your body with oxycodone and call it an Oxycontin. So no instant release over 30mg. The higher strength pills are not made to dump everything at once. If they were either by peeling off the coating or chewing you might have yourself a problem.
