TEK - Morning Glory Extraction with Peppermint Oil/Extract

Abstract:
This is a basic tek that explains an easy to perform, totally OTC way to extract the essential ingredients from Morning Glory seeds. Furthermore, the use of Peppermint Oil, as many of you may/may not know, changes LSA into LSH. LSH is considered to be the more psychedelic form of the alkaloid. Effects and more detailed chemistry can be found in other threads and forums.

Materials:
-Morning Glory Seeds (a packet at local greenhouse. Buy at least 15 grams.)

-Naptha lighter fluid (Cheap, effective. Grocery store or gas station. Buy a name brand to ensure clean evaporation.)

-Peppermint exrtract (which is 89% alcohol) AND Peppermint Oil (Grocery store, very inexpensive.)

-Assorted glasswares/mason jars. Some big one, some small ones.

-Dish Soap

-Coffee Grinder (if you don't have one already, then go buy one {hella cheap} or don't look up any more ethnobotanical TEKs. )

Proceedure:

1) Empty seed packets into small jar and add a squirt of dish soap and cold water. Put lid on and shake vigorously. You will notice the water turning nasty brown/dark gray.

2) Strain seeds through a mesh filter/spaghetti strainer and rinse with cool water. Tap water is just fine. This step removes the toxins that coat the outer seed to prevent ingestion and to act as a bacterial protectant for the seeds.

3) Dry seeds with paper towels and a fan if necessary, but make sure they are dry before step 4.

4) Put seeds in coffee grinder and crank the baby up for a good 30 seconds. Make sure the seeds are powdered with minimal large husky bits.

5) Put seeds in a small, dry jar and add naptha until the seeds are well covered in the fluid. For 15 grams of seed, SWIM used about 65 mL of naptha. Shak container for at least 5-10 minutes then allow to sit for another 20 minutes in a fridge.

6) Discard the junk colored naptha by filtering once through an old t-shirt or similar piece of fabric, then again through a coffee filter. Collect the seed mass stuck to your filters and any in the previous jar.

7) After discarding the naptha, place the seed goop on a plate and spread it out with a butter knife. You can then place this outside in the shade to dry, or inside under a fan. Avoid placing in direct sunlight or using a grow lamp to dry faster, because the alkaloids are sensitive to heat.

8) Once dry, place the seed material in a clean, dry jar. Smaller is better here. Add about 5 drops Peppermint Oil per 15 grams of seed to the jar. Pour in Peppermint extract, using the same volume as the naptha from earlier. NOTE: Using peppermint oil is the OTC, easy solution to use. Using high proof grain alcohol like Everclear (95% ethyl alcohol) would probably be the best option, seeing as the peppermint extract is, well, VERY MINTY to consume later...)

9) Proceed to shake the alcohol/seed solution for about 10 minutes, then place in a fridge for 1 to 2 hours. Longer the better.

10) Remove from fridge, filter seed material, and save the liquid, which is now orange/yellow/brown and discard the seed material. We no longer need the seed goop because it has released all of the alkaloids into the alcohol solution.

This liquid can now be consumed.

Dosage:
LSA has been converted into LSH in this process by addition of the peppermint oil, which contains aldehydes (I believe) that perform the reaction. I would say that 7.5 grams of Holland grown seeds are good for one dose once extracted in this form. Therefore, if you used 15 grams like SWIM did, you will end up with two doses. Pretty simply ratio, IMO.
