The Mystical Experience / Psychedelic Experience /Enlightenment. Easy to induce chemically - you just digest enough acid, maybe 2-3 tabs in one go. Here's how I think it can PERMANENTLY be had in a natural way, and with the LEAST effort. A few months of work and you're there. This is based on about 3.5 years of serious spiritual, scientific andcross-disciplinarypursuit. 1. Summary To get into this state you need to be able to consistently go intothe top yogicmeditative state, called "samadhi" or sometimes "sabikalpa samadhi". This is NOT the buddhist Samadhi! This is yoga. Samadhi is the deepest meditative state of yoga, where instead of concentrating on an object you concentrate on nothing, on the void. No verbal thoughts, no body sensations, no breath awareness, no nothing. A sense of existence without form, as pure consciousness, and a feeling of bliss/tranquility. That's it. When you do that 3 times a day for 15 minutes each time for some time, your day to day consciousness gradually shifts into the mystical experience state. Voila! When you've achieved that state you need to meditate much less. 15 minutes, morning, noon and evening, twice a week. Or something like that. 2. Get your body ready To be able to meditate properly your body needs to be in anOK shape. So you need to fix it a little bit. Do the following: - Buy "The trigger point therapy workbook" and read it. Then go to the best massage therapist you can afford and have him fix ALL your trigger points. Trigger points are areas in muscles that hardened and won't become loose again unless massaged REALLY well. It's the hot topic in physiotherapy, but generaly physiotherapists, even if they treat trigger points, will only treat those that hinder movement or actively radiate ("trigger") pain to another area. You need to fix all of them or they will get in the way of your meditation. If you're physically fit and with good posture you might be lucky and have little to no trigger points. This book is a self-help book, it teaches you how to treat yourself -I don't believe in that!!! Trigger points are too painful to squeeze and you're probably not masochistic enough to do that yourself. So give it to a massage pro. - Do rolfing. It's a 10-treatment massage series that will separate the fascia (transparent membrane that surrounds the muscle, you can see it in chicken legs) from the muscle. Bad posture makes the muscle stick to one side of the fascia. This causes inability to operate muscles correctly - which leads to bad posture and the creation of trigger points. - Do Iyengar yoga like a maniac. As much as you can - 3 times a week is great. Iyengar yoga involves a lot of teacher attention to your posture. The best book on scoliosis treatment is an Iyengar yoga book. Do it until you learn how to carry yourself properly - a few months of intense practice will take you a LONG way. 2. Meditate - Pick up the SSY samadhi meditation technique - www.ssy.org. You learn it in a 2- or 3-week course. 4 hours a day, then a 4-day retreat at the end. It might not be available in the west. The nicest place in india to do it is Pune, near bombay, September - March. There is a neighborhood there, Koregaon Park, where there are many westerners and it's easy to get by. In pune they don't have english courses but the tapes are in english and the teachers will explain to you in english whatever you need to know. You learn the technique, then practice it at home for a few months to learn to get into the samadhi state. - Get access to a samadhi tank (sense deprivation tank, e.g. www.samadhitank.com) or even better get yourself a samadhi tank. in the tank, it's WAY easier to get into samadhi when you do SSY. It can mean the difference between one month of meditation and one year of meditation. Do this and you're well on your to a serious consciousness upgrade. Keep us posted! Love & light Yuval |

those tanks would be so badass for tripping in. How much money
are they average, and is there certain public places i should look for one to use not buy? Very interesting read by the way, i will have to look into that stuff. |

I'd say call the manufacturer up and ask for a location near you, they're a franchise sort of business.Of course owning one would be super cool - physicist Feynmann tripped and smoked in a tank, wrote about it in his autobio "surely you're joking": http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/2783.html Anote about the SSY meditation technique: samadhi used to be something you only get to TRY to practice after many years of yoga - but there are a few techniques around for getting to it without long term yoga practice. SSY is the oneI know, it was developed in 1983. You use a mantra to get into meditation a minute after you close your eyes, then follow a few simple guidelines. There's another samadhi technique oneI found mentioned on the internet, where the mantra is repeated constantly: "Once one of my students decided to practice with an Indian guru. This guru taught Samadhi practice. A 1000 ways to achieve Enlightenment (train my brain). In Buddhism, the deepest form of meditation (of which there are many) is to be totally focused in the Present Moment. This Present Moment is whatever I am doing right now (driving down the road, talking to a friend, sitting at a desk). At this level of meditation, the rest of the world drops away for a few seconds (the past, thoughts about what to do next, any second-guessing). Certainly, no one (including fully Enlightened people) remains at this state (or would even want to). The best part of having our human brain is, I can travel through 1000 different paths in life. All of these paths are available at any time. My current way of living is to spend MORE of my time in certain of these paths (concentration, happiness, loving-kindness), and LESS time in paths which are "old" ways of seeing the world (obsession about what to do, and how to do it ... seeing life as being controlled by others ... looking for others to make my life worthwhile). The way I see it, being able to be concentrated on the activity I am doing, is the path which brings me the most happiness. I use several different methods to achieve this (Meditation, prayer, physical exertion, physical stillness). One way I have trained myself is to plan to do something spiritual (and on a regular basis), like yuval's 15-minutes-3-times-a-day regimen. When I can know (and believe) that at a certain time each day, I will be meditating (practicing yoga, praying, or getting rolfed)... this breaks down the barriers in my mind (control issues: why do I have to keep doing this? I do not need to keep doing this; I'm far-enough along. Why haven't I achieved a full Enlightment yet?) As I impose a spiritual regimen on myself, it is not really different from having a Job: From 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, I will show up at work, I will do the work I am supposed to do, and I will receive the rewards for doing this (a pay check). Fortunately, spiritual work doesn't take 40 hours a week. A few well-chosen moments a week provides the energy to continue on my spiritual path. It all boils down to: How much do I want to live a more-Enlightened life? If you ask them, a lot of people will say: "Yes, I want to live a powerfully spiritual life." This is a wonderful dream. Putting this plan into practice, however, requires a program of action (I will spend 60 minutes, every week, for 6 months). While this sounds pretty easy, it is not. The human nature is contrary to the idea of being forced to do something (no matter how exciting the outcome may be) ... especially for a spiritual goal. On the other hand, monetary goals are easier to re-work a life around. There are many people who can spend almost every waking hour, planning and investing their attention to making money. (If I can do THIS, I will be able to pay for my son's college tuition ... buy a second car ... a vacation home ... yet another million dollars in the bank.) It is easy to see the benefits of money (they're right in front of you). Seeing the benefits of spiritual practice is more difficult. Because, no matter how far along the path a person gets (including, for those lucky few, Enlightenment), the mind is still jumbled, still obsesses about things which are un-productive. In fact, even after a powerful spiritual awakening (especially after a powerful awakening), life returns to where it was before (though less often). Even if I KNOW (with every atom of my being) that life is [fill in the blank with an Enlightenment gift], I cannot stay in that other world. I must return to this un-perfect world, and live the rest of my life in this un-perfect world. With on-going practice, I can (with one item at a time) take my Enlightened perspective and convince myself that this one item "fits" into my Utopian view. The way it can fit is, I let go of my view of perfection (how it should be, in a perfect world). This allows me to see that im-perfection is OK ... my imperfect life is perfect. |

Here's a link to floatation therapy locations in the UK: http://www.cyberfloat.clara.net/5.htm The guy I went to float with had samhadi tanks, and he actually worked with Dr. John Lilly before the good Dr. Died. I floated in San Diego, CA. Just do a google search for "floatation therapy". There are more locations out there than most people would suspect. There are plans for home-made float tanks out there. A large part of your expense in building one will be the 1,100 pounds or so of epsom salts you have to buy. If you try to get that much in the drug store (they sell it there for folks to soak their feet in, in little bags/boxes) you'll surely go broke. I asked my float therapy guru where he gets his, he said a chemical supply house, they can deliver it wholesale by the truckload. And you'll need a truckload. He said it took him about two weeks stirring the salt and water with a paddle to get it all dissolved. (sorry, I don't know how I managed to cross post this reply in the wrong thread.
