My friend Octomom was wondering how other's crush and snort their pills. She's tried a few ways....
The obvious wrapping it in a dollar bill/paper and pounding with pressure from a lipstick tube, or spoon etc.
Using a hose clamp as a grater, as if grating a block of cheese
And her new personal favorite tool....The PED EGG. For those who aren't familiar with the infamous infomercial product, It's an egg shaped cheese grater like product, ment to exfoliate dry skin off ones feet. The beauty of using it to grate up pills is that the powder falls neatly into the center of the "egg" where it safely remains until it is parachuted, snorted, etc., etc., etc.
SWIM place a dollar bill over the pill and then a card(license, student id, etc) over that and crushes it with his lighter, then uses a razor and chops it up even finer. The pedegg sounds interesting, though SWIM would worry about shaving his fingers down as well.
Swim has used the automotive hoseclamp with great results for years.........

SWIM uses a tool that is sold at pharmacies which is called 'The pillmaster' which is actually designed to do this (can also be bought online for ~$10.-)
SWIM doesn't snort or condone snorting anything but Oxys, but when he does he uses a pestal & mortar that he janked from a high school chemistry teacher.
The only pill that SWIM crushes is Oxycontin. SWIM usually uses scissors or an anvil lopper to cut the pill into the desired size, than SWIM peels off the protective coating with his fingernails, and puts the pill on a hard surface such as a desk. SWIM then uses the clear flat end of a vitamin bottle to crush the pill into small chunks, and while still applying force to the vitamin bottle SWIM grinds the small chunks into the desk and is left with a fine snortable powder. (Although it should be noted that SWIM has a glass-topped desk that won't absorb any of the powder) Any item with a hard flat side could be used in place of the vitamin bottle.
Mortor and pestle method works best for swim, he has the beaded MScontin so they fly everywhere with other methods, and this is just so simple. 1shot glass, and a rounded handle of some sort swim uses a butter knife that has a round handle and stirt it around and it crushes all the little beads up in about 1 minute. SWIM uses this method with large pills also.

yeah well, SWIM just picked up a combo cutter/crusher from his local drugstore and this thing is amazing, requires very little extra chopping up after its done and makes the process a whole lot easier. very cheap too.

This is, minus the $ bill, very similar to SWIMs method.
SWIM might give the mortar and pestle a try though. Aside from the fact that it probably works well, something about using an ancient tool to prepare his dose makes him feel more connected with it. Does that make sense?
im pretty new to pills and am plannin on snortin ritalin .....so could sum1 plz tel me how to get the coating off.....and is 30mg ok fr da first time??
In lieu of having a proper mortar and pestle, Swiv uses one of those lids that come on candles. The big heavy glass ones. Like these ones here. And she does it on a stoneware plate rather than a mirror because it is so sturdy. The candle lids are the BEST she's found to crush a pill in under 5 seconds. If one can acquire a lid with no "embossing" on the top that is totally smooth, that is the best. Second best is a nail polish bottle.
Swiv has also once used a stale Red Vine as a tooter. Then she had a tasty, medicated treat (she threw out the part that went up the nose...yuck) and she could eat the evidence!
"Shaving" of a pill in SWIM's opinion is best done using a worm clamp. Same clamps swiyou sees on radiator hoses and other hoses/parts of automobiles. The backside of the clamp is sharp. So take the coating off the pill (if there is one), then rub the pill lightly (it gets it finer if done lightly) back and forth on the backside (sharp side) of the clamp. You will be left with a nice fine powder. swiyou will get bigger flakes if pushing too hard.

ah since Swim last posted he's been using a pedi egg with fantastic results. it's not nearly as heavy as a pestle & mortar, easier, quicker and less mess. only downside is there are a few small chunks but nothing too bad & at the end of the pill swim has to push with their finger ( which doesn't cut swim ! )

SWIM's method involves a mirror and a hard surface which generally ends up being the original pill bottle. SWIM generally breaks his medication in half with his hands and then places each half on the mirror and then presses down on the pill bottle until the medication is ground up. SWIM then grinds the powder around until it is very fine and then enjoys
SWIM breaks his pills down as much as possible with his fingers (so shards don't fly everywhere) then proceeds to use his college ID to get the last few chunks.
Usually sliding any type of laminated card like that while pushing down hard enough gets the pill into a very fine powder (as long as the surface you're crushing on isn't porous(don't waste valuable oc, pleeeease)) and SWIM can't imagine purchasing anything to help him with this process. Takes 2 seconds by hand.
the great thing about the pedi egg though is that it doesn't make clumps when using oc. (ex when swim smushes oc with a pestal and mortar it usually makes a few big clumps, and also when using the card method) but with a PE it just goes very smooth and even fine enough to where swiy need not waste any valuable time taking the coating off, & more time getting high!> lol
also, when swims parents see his pedi egg the only explanation swim needs is that he <3s his feet nice and smooth LOL!!

......of course not.... swim would never do such a thing... maybe... Damn, who's he tryina fool? Whenever he can't afford enough (sometimes even when he can) and had used a dollar to help crush up a pill, he'd lick the dollar clean. Every little bit counts I guess.......
Swim has a metal cigarette case, and just uses the flat side of a razor to crush up a pill (unless its something real fat like vicodine) and all the little shits that shoot out fall into this convenient "gutter" that goes along all 4 edges of the case, and nothing worth saving is all that excapes. But before he had this awsome getup, a dollar and the butt of a lighter would crush the pill into chunks, then he'd pull the lighter laying horozontally across the chunks, producing a nice fine powder. Then scrape the dollar with a razor, cut up a couple lines and go skiing!
Oh, use a crips dollar, much more easier to work with, and less gets trapped in the dolar and you don't have to worry about it ripping as much.

defenitely. they make 'pill crushers' if you will for getting pills into powder form, for various reasons of course. Too put in pudding, etc. OR for other reasons. teeheee
