Effects - Did adderall for the first time today, questions..

So Swim had a paper due and was having difficulty doing it, he kept switching to video games, surfing the web etc. Then his roommate told him to take half of one of his 20mg of adderall. So swim did. (Swim is 6'1 180 btw).

Swim was expecting to feel extremely speedy and hyper but the opposite happened! It was like a tranquilizer dart hit Swim and all he wanted to do was sit on the couch and chill. Swim felt extremely euphoric, however, and really enjoyed the drug despite his lethargy. He ended up taking 50mg all day (his first day ever, hope he didnt OD as he is currently on his last 10mg), spread out over 12 hours.

Swim really likes adderall now. Few questions though:

-Why didn't Swim experience any speedy-ness? Swim redosed 4 more times and never once felt an ounce of a rushing sensation. It would do no good to take adderall during or before work because Swim wouldn't wanna do anything physical and Swim is a waiter.

-Swim doesn't think he has ADD or ADHD. He is 26 and no doctor or anything has even remotely indicated he has ADHD. He can concentrate in class with effort.

-Swim likes to do MDMA occassionally. Will recreational adderall use cause him to lose the magic MDMA produces? Or less intensify it?

-How much will it take to get Swim addicted? How much of a dose is too much for Swim as he is new to adderall? Swim's roommate says hes prescribed 20mg twice a day because he's been on adderall for 15 years.

Also, how could Swim go about getting a prescription for this stuff? Swim thinks it might be difficult for a 26 year old with no history of ADHD to get a script..

Everyone reacts differently, generally lower doses tend to be less stimulating and simply euphoric and happy.

A lot of people who think they have ADD in reality do not, it is diagnosed way too much to get kids on stimulants.

Probably not, amphetamine mostly interacts with dopamine and MDMA mostly reacts with seritonin, so there should not really be any problems. Do not combine them though, street MDMA is already probably full of methamphetamine and other stimulants.

Everyone is different, just use moderately.

If you do not have ADHD do not get a prescription, because frankly you do not need it.

The reason swiy didnt feel speedy is because dopamine has a calming effect. Since it was a low dose, the dopamine balanced out the stimulant. If swiy took a higher dose, the speedyness would be noticable.

50mg isnt nearly enough to OD (although be careful when increasing dose because everyone reacts differently to the drug). When swim was prescribed adderall, he was prescribed to take 90mg of xr per day... although, at the time 90mg was way too much for swim (went a week without sleeping) so he lowered the dose to 50mg per day.

How long does it take to become addicted? Swim takes at least 50mg of xr per day (50mg is his prescribed dose) and used to take 120-180mg 3 times a week. Swim does not consider himself addicted because he feels fine after a day of not taking addy. Although swim always craves more...
