Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 2.9 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. We just need 1% of our readers to donate. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.
Not sure if I am posting this in the proper place but whatever, My Monkey seriously need some suggestions like anything that could help mellow an acid trip, it was her first time and she had a bad trip, so yeah ANY suggestions would be helpful, I've heard that marijuana on the come down is good but I also heard that it intensifies the trip. I am not sure if she is still coming down or still on her trip, this is a very mental alert trip, not sure if anyone knows what she is talking about. So yeah ANY suggestions would be great!
Benzos or light opiates can help, but it's generally a bad idea to administer even more drugs if SWIY doesn't know what he's doing. Still a bit of Kratom tea and the like at the tail end of a trip can mellow out the post-trip burned-out feelings and help SWIY relax. Cannabis is a bad idea since it will only send him off again, and melatonin for sleep-aid purposes can also restart the trip.
The only sure solution is time. Just tell SWIY to relax, occupy himself with whatever can distract or amuse him, and give it time to go away.
If SWIY had a less than stellar trip, he should give himself a few weeks to re-integrate and think the experience over. He should be hesitant to jump onto whatever he thought during the experience as gospel truth because it is, after all, only the drug. Let him think over whatever made him uncomfortable from a sober perspective, and reason out the lessons learned. A lot of uncomfortable experiences can be beneficial in the long run.
Drugs like valium (diazepam) or xanax or even kratom will take the anxiety out of a trip but also put you in a dull state of mind and should only be used as a last resort. If shit really hits the fan then you can take anti-psychotic medicines that act on your serotonin receptors like risperdal or seroquel that will actually take you completely out of a trip and end it.
SWIM loved LSD, but SWIM often had problems coming down. SWIM found marijuana to be helpful, and SWIM is not a marijuana fan. SWIM thinks that anything that helps calm a person can help, including things as simple as drinking a lot of water, juice or tea.
SWIM recommends not drinking too much alcohol or doing too much coke while tripping, because SWIM believes it is difficult enough to come down off those alone, much less combined with LSD.
Clonodine and b12 will all but end an LSD trip - at any strength. (swim has personally seen a 1 mg dose go to nothing). I find sirmooney's suggestion odd, for swim (who is a regular user of MJ) MJ seems to "kick it back in" for a short period. different strokes for different folks I guess.

Reason: a thought.
SWIM's problems weren't with tripping, and SWIM wouldn't have minded kicking it back in. SWIM's problems were with anxiety/stress/sadness caused by adrenaline crashing, so anything that would numb SWIM out was sought. Even MJ, which SWIM rarely smoked and didn't care for otherwise.
SWIM assumed most people's problems coming down were due adrenaline/cortisol responses being completely out of whack after 8-12 hours of frying and flying.
Yeah, SWIM can sympathize with this. What SWIM likes to do is just chill out and have a few beers (Not too much!!!) as the acid wears off. Dont drink too much though as feeling unsteady while being on acid is not fun. SWIY will probably notice that he/she wont really feel a normal alcohol effect, but what SWIM will notice is a sort of more relaxed mellow feeling. Make sure the music keeps playing aswell.. Nothing worse that sitting with friends on acid with no music, its a source of high anxiety... Due to acid having such empathatic effects it's a good idea to try and make some jokes or just muck around jokingly to lighten up your friends too, that way your friends and yourself will feel happy and relaxed. Tripping really is an art and once you get through the first stages every beginner tripper goes through SWIY will start to enjoy trying to hit the nail on the head as far as having the best trip goes. Good luck!
SwiY should just try to ride out the rest if possible.
If it is sleep that swiY is concerned about, she should be alright taking an OTC sleeping pill to fall asleep that night. SwiM's bra has heard that fruits and anything w/ vitamin C can help to brine swiY back to earth but really it's a 'buy the ticket, take the ride' kind of thing
I think some people need to learn to enjoy the acid scattered feeling. SWIM tells me that when he comes off acid he enjoys sitting back and contemplating things or looking at things that previously gave him visuals provided he avoids feeling awkward around his friends, which is possible now that SWIM has tripped a few times and knows what its like for all parties involved.
Warning: Drinking alcohol (a decent amount of rum) while under lsd's effects has resulted in a very bad trip for swim's friend. Swim was on lsd too and his friend totally freaked out (broke his nose, tried to kill swim, was jibbering nonsense) for about 12 hours. The end result of this is the cops being called at 8 am by swims neighbors because of all the ruckus. They broke down swims door because they thought swim's friend was dying (swim didn't hear them knocking). Searched swims house, took swim and friend to the hospital. Swim was fine but friend had to be administered benzos because he fought the cops. Friend had taken lsd before with no such issues. Swim is still paying for the legal consequences of his friend's bad trip to this day.
In conclusion, benzos or clonodine are a good way bring down an lsd trip. Alcohol is not. GHB might be good too, but swim has never tried that combo and is not sure.

Being very hydrated (like drinking 8-12oz of water every 45mins-1hour) during the whole trip and doing stretching (or better yet some meditation) throughout will keep ones body and mind limber. if one is very concerned, 75-100mg of diphenhydramine might do the trick for OTC, just make sure that nothing is planned the next day cause it will eat your soul.
most of the times when swim cannot sleep it is because he lets himself feel restless, sometimes, sitting in the dark focusing on not moving leads to falling asleep without knowing it.
When SWIM does LSD, he does not take it lightly. SWIM likes to trip extremely hard with lots of visuals. This is why SWIM usually takes anywhere between 4 to 10 hits at a time. This makes the comedown almost unbearable for SWIM. He feels awkward everywhere he goes and just wants to sit down and smoke cigarettes. SWIM feels like people don't understand him when he comes down and he feels like he cannot connect to others. The way SWIM gets past this is either smoking enough weed to make him pass out or popping xanax to kill any lingering trip. Xanax will kill your trip at just about any time and will definitely put you to sleep. The other way to kill a trip is to take Vitamin B12 but he has no idea where to get it from.
Good luck to all future trippers but always remember, if you don't respect LSD, it can ruin you.
I'm a little confused about the b12 though, vitamin B, no matter the number is the energy vitamin. Swim's tried b12 as a potential recreational thing, and it did increase his energy, and can't see how this could kill an LSD trip. to my knowlage, b12's primary function is to promote healthy cell growth, and energy.
