Hypersensitive? Or something more dangerous?

Swim used adderall 4-5 times. Each time was 20mg IR, or a 20mg XR. Each time was used for studying/paper writing, and didn't occur more than once a week.

Then one day, SWIM took 20mg IR. He thought it wore off, so about 5 hours later, popped a 30mg XR.
So swim is studying, when around 3am he decides to take a nice study break by going on a run. Swim did Cross country and track and field in high school for 4 years, running 30 miles per week on average, and could run a 5 minute mile. Swim considered himself to be in quite exceptional aerobic/cardiovascular health, although freshman year of college he has definetly gotten somewhat out of shape, but not severely.

So he first smokes some ganja (in retrospect this was incredibly stupid as marijuana also increases HR), then goes on a run. Swim FEELS great... but his heart is pounding as he runs. Swim is running about 8min per mile pace, when he decides to stop and check his heart rate... 190. No joke. He decides to turn back and run back to the dorms. While swim still feels within his normal exertion level, he checks his pulse again a little later. 55 beatsover 15 seconds. 220bpm. Well over maximum HR. Swim tells himself it cant be right, he's just incorrectly calculating it. But in the back of his head he knows he counted right. so he instead stops running immediately and walks back the remaining 1.5 miles.

So swim finally gets back to the dorm, and is now kind of a wreck. His heart is POUNDING in his chest. He feels every thud against his chest. If he lies down, he feels a little better, and his heart rate "drops" to 120-130. However, if swim simply stood up, his heart rate would SKYROCKET up to about 190+. Swim isn't exaggerating or making this up. His heart rate would literally rise above 190bpm. Just from laying down to standing up. The possibility that swim was about to suffer a heart attack, or heart failure, was very real to swim at this point; he fully acknowledged his heart was tripping out. Luckily, unlike others, this didn't make swim more anxious, scared, or nervous, just frustrated, a feeling like, "****!! Why is my body doing this!"

Swim was miserable for a while, trying to relax, unable to sleep. For the entire next TWO days, even after the adderall was outta his system, he would notice a significant increase in heart rate EVERY time he stood up.
Swim is smart, and decided to lay off the adderall.

However, Swim is actually stupid, so a few weeks later did it again, but promised himself no ganja with adderall. Swim did 20mg, and luckily did not have the same symptoms. However, he noticed when he biked to class on adderall, his heart rate was quite high (maybe 140-150ish?) and once he sat in class, his heart rate lowered to 100bpm, but didn't drop lower to his normal resting rate of 70.

So now swim wants to know, whats the deal? He's heard of people doing 80+mgs of adderall at a time... he knows kids prescribed this shit who play bball, tennis, football w/e on it... He reckons he has an average tolerance, at least regarding the therapeutic/recreational effects... are there any suggestions as to why swim's heart spazzed out so hard on 30mg? He is especially worried because he considered himself to be in such good shape because he could run a 5min mile... even now, "out of shape" he has run a 6 minute mile. Swim actually went to the doc got an EKG, all tests normal... but he knows, and FELT that something was wrong with his heart. This is compounded by the fact that swim had a grandfather die from heart attack at 56 years old. Even though the doc's say that Swim is fine, he is still worried. Can swim still use adderall, because he wants to.

Sorry if any of this sounds convoluted/unclear, feel free to ask any questions, and (swim) greatly appreciates all input he recieves.

EscapeDummy added 5 Minutes and 16 Seconds later...

Also, before anyone tells swim he is an idiot for abusing stims/adderall, he was diagnosed with mild to moderate classical ADD a looong time ago, but swim's parents are super against medication (and alcohol, and weed, and anything you can name...), so he essentially just dealt with it. Now in college, swim has fairly easy access to these types of meds, and they did help him out a lot aside from that specific instance.
