Drug info - Lose any heroin while its cooking in a spoon?

Ok so this cockatiel I know was wondering if when you cook heroin to inject it if you lose any of it. He doesn't know if this is a dumb question but he has been wondering since he does not want to lose ANY H in the process. The thing that made him wonder is that he knows people smoke heroin (he himself has never seen it in person) so he thought what makes it not burn off the spoon when you make the water sizzle? Are you supposed to make the water sizzle for a very short amount of time? Cause the cockatiel sortof liked to make it sizzle for a second to make sure it is mixed but maybe this isn't a good idea? Thoughts?

Yes, you just want to barely get a simmer going for like 1-2 seconds. Mostly to just get it mixed up. Don't really want to cook it longer than that.

Ok, He'll do that for now on....is there anyway you can lose any H before it hits simmer point? He asks cause when he uses a well used spoon thats all black on the bottom it seems to take a long time to get to simmer and he is wondering if that's bad.

The brief simmering wouldn't destroy the heroin. Don't know if prolonged simmering would, but it's kind of just known among junkies not to do that (not really sure why).

The buildup of black soot on the bottom acts as an "insulator" and makes it take longer to heat up. Just clean it off from time to time.

As longer swiny cook this Stuff as more harmful Viruses and Bakterias he kill!
Swiny will not harm the Heroin by cooking with Water!
(Melting-point is 173 Celsius, sorry i dont know it in Fahrenheit)

And of course: cooking in a Spoon will decrease the Dose!
Why?
Because of tiny, tiny drops in the cooking action.
But swim advise to cook it long enough!

Heating heroin for too long wastes heroin as obviously while it is cooking it is going up in smoke so it should be heated only until the mixture has become clear and golden brown

TT's badger did like this:
- put the dope onto the spoon
- slowly added clean (if available) water to it
- added a bit of ascorbic acid, stirred with the cap of the needle
- waited for some minutes
- slowly heated with small flame and watched how the stuff dissolved
- eventually added some more ascorbic acid (tiny amounts!)
- heated a bit more, just short before it would start to cook stopped
- if there was some wax on the water that tt thought it could be base,
he added acid a third time (but happened not a lot)
- the product was filtered, cooled by holding the syringe under cold
running water from the tap and ten was ready for theoretically use iv.

if the heroin is cooked for many long seconds, you would destroy morphine
and heroin and a lot of stuff will "jump" from the spoon.

tt once knew a dealer, that had a white table, speckled all over with
small and fat brown spots, that was heroin that "left" his spoon while
cooking. when a customer had no money, he/she was allowed to
scratch off some of the golden brown glass-like stuff, enough to make 4
prople high...

Heroin never comes in a sterile Form,
at least swiny have not a phial of Diamorphin!

It is much more wise to cook it longer than just a second to kill
Bacteria as much as possible!
No Heroin will burn and go up in Smoke at least swiny cook with water!
(Heroin get destroyed at 173 Celsius)

yeah, that's kindof what I was hoping; that the boiling point of water was lower than the temperature when heroin vaporizes (evaporates?). Still worried about wasting any so I will just simmer for a sec unless I see something set in stone.
