Little paranoid here...
Hey Guys,
I'm getting little paranoid here, probably there is nothing really to worry about but... Paranoia is one hell a felling! I snorted like, 6-7mg of dilaudid. I had like 3-4 beers before that.. I have no tolerance of heroin..(2nd time user, first time was couple days ago) And I'm felling itchy. While I'm here on PC.. Doing something I'm okey.. But when i try to just put pc away.. relax, and try to sleep.. I get that shortness of breath thing.. Not sure if it's real.. Or just imagination. What Happening, is that's anything i should be worried about.. ? sayhello added 2 Minutes and 58 Seconds later... Btw, i = swim... Last edited by sayhello; 02-05-2009 at 11:30. Re: Little paranoid here...
sayhello
Welcome to the forum! That's a pretty hefty dose for someone without a tolerance, but definitely not a fatal one. Just make sure to keep the breathing going if it's shallow. Ichyness isn't a huge side-effect to be worried about, fortunately. Strange effect though, huh? Here's a quote from Steven B. Harris, MD, on the matter: "All opioids can cause histamine release from mast cells which store it, and as it's not IgE mediated so it's not really considered an allergy. I don't care what your doctor told you or didn't tell you. Stop calling it that, and you'll feel better! Histamine release from opiates can cause hives (wheals, urticaria), sneezing, itching, and even worse asthma. But benedryl stops it all, it never causes shock or suffication, and epinephirine isn't needed, and it's about as harmless as problems with niacin (which it resembles). Most clinicians ignore it, except to treat it symptomatically. You can take antihistamine if you need it. True allergy to opioids is very rare." Here's the website: http://yarchive.net/med/opiate_histamine_release.html If your chimp is observing shallow breathing, this is indeed a sign of a dangerous dose. However, the dose described shouldn't be fatal. In cats, which are occasionally used as approximations of the human equivalents, the LD50 for hydromorphone, the active agent in Dilauded, is 3 mg/kg intravenous. Assuming your chimp weights well over 10 kg, he should survive, especially because the LD50 for your chimp will be much higher, given his physiology and different route of administration. Here's a PDF discussing the LD50 of hydromorphone (2nd page): http://www.paddocklabs.com/forms/msds/hmorsupp.pdf Hope this helps! Last edited by Gradient; 02-05-2009 at 12:10. Re: Little paranoid here...
......
What SWIY is experiencing MILD effects of a MILD OD,more than likely the SOB is real.SWIY did take a large amount for someone Opiate nieve and should not re-dose for fear of really/fully ODing. I cannot emphasize the importance of UNDER dosing especially if there is NO tollerance and SWIY is trying something new to them.Like I have mentioned before it's better to Under dose and move up as needed than take it all at once and be like "OH SHIT!!".Stay safe.
