This Saturday, May 2nd 2009, sees "J Day" in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin (in Aotearoa / New Zealand).
So C'mon Kiwis, get behind the international push to change the current outrageous cannabis laws and help Stop The Drug War! For venues in each city, just google J Day and check out the NORML web site.
Given the current Swine Fever scare, facial covering might be prudent, as well as not partaking in the inebriants that will undoubtedly be circulating.

International J Day is always the first Saturday in May, so this year that means Saturday 2nd May. NORML is organising events in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Come along and show your support for repealing cannabis prohibition.

We need your support now more than ever. This year the UN is reviewing it's anti-drug conventions and the signs are looking promising. Here in New Zealand the Law Commission, an independent non-political body charged with fixing broken laws, has turned it's attention to the Misuse of Drugs Act.

J Day is part of the Global Marijuana March, happening in over 200 cities around the world.

Auckland - Albert Park. This year we're doing two zones featuring Jafa Mafia, Morning Steppa, Sunday Puff, Killa Fire Burn, Jordan +MC, Dub Present, King G, Willie & Sol'omonics, Tommy Flowers and maybe even more. Plus food stalls, the Daktory Day Out, the CannaBus, the NORML BBQ, the Grower's Ironman, and more!
Hamilton - Lake Stage, by the watertower. MC'd by none other than the Trons finest lyrical masters 2Young and Moskon this years JDay is going large! With an amazing lineup including Sora Shima, Blinding Jupiter, Skelitor, Chris Thompson, Milk Train, Second Chapter, Electric Mayhem and The Hip Hop Fresh Funk Crew, heaps of stalls and a bouncy castle the best afternoon out in the Tron just got a whole lot better!

Dunedin - The Octagon.

All events run from High Noon to 4:20. J Day is free, but because of the nature of what we are trying to achieve, J Day is an R18 event. Please, no alcohol.
