Boiling mescaline cactus
I just got a San Pedro and I was talking to a friend about what to do with it when it is big enough he said that you cut the top off and replant as a new cacti then cut off the middle which is were you get the mescaline from and leeve the bottom to grow again. Then cut up the middle and boil it strain out the mushy cacti stuff and keep the water repeat repeat repeat etc then boil the water down until it is like a cup full then drink and trip, has anyone heard of this method? does it work? how pure is the end product? is it the simplest? ive read other extaction methods but im not too learned in chem and its terms so i get confused. Any help would be great

The boiling method is well-known and you should be able to find full details all over the net, though your description sound about right. As regards the mescline being in the middle bit that's rubbish, it's throughout the cactus, but leaving the bottom section and replanting the top has the advantage of providing you with two more mescaline-bearing cacti in a couple of years when they've grown back!
