Problem with the acetone wash

Hi guys I was hoping someone could help swim out.

swim used 99.9% acetone perchaced off ebay
and used lab-grade filter paper

swim put .5g in a shot glass filled with 25ml of acetone, washed it around and filtered it through the paper.

A few things went wrong. Firstly, the acetone went through the filter paper very slowly, swim doesn't know if that is problem or not. Secondly, swim noticed that the amount of crystals that started off at the bottom of the shot glass started decreasing, Swim was left with something like 0.01g after the wash.

Swim is sure the product definitly isn't 90% cut. The starting product was quite goos, swim is experienced coke user and rates starting product 8/10 for quality. So the only thing swim can think of is that the acetone contained water and the yahoo on ebay who sold it mis-labeled the acetone.

Swim has just tried the pathetically small line he was left with and was so impressed with the results he definitly wants to try it again.

How do swimmers recommend he does the process to make sure the same thing doesn't happen? Is there any other way to make this work other than the epsom salt method? It seems to swim that this way is too long and adds more potential for mistakes.

Thanks!

Re: Problem with the acetone wash

okay , so ...

SWYI should first dry the coke on a warm dish then grind it to a fine powder then pplace it in the acetone. You can dry he acetone with mgso4.

Now how many line doe she usually do from 0,5g or unwashed coke?

Re: Problem with the acetone wash

the guide clearly states that even with 99.9% ISO there is still some water. Try to follow the instructions more closely to rid the ISO of the water. It works, you just need to purify the ISO of the water.

Re: Problem with the acetone wash

yes the 99.9 just refers to the acetone content, it can still have water

BumpBump added 0 Minutes and 45 Seconds later...

swim has had some cuts that turn everyting to base also... if this is the case most of you product would be in the tone as base...
