IR morhine

Having a choice between oral morphine IR solution 10mg/5ml or msir tablets which hads the best pain control and lasts longer? It seems to take way too much of the liquid for the same effect. SWIM has a choice on 90 tabs or 1350ml liq.

I have made some assumptions here, so correct me if i'm wrong.
Assuming the tablets are 10mg Morphine sulphate IR and the liquid is Morphine Sulphate 10mg/5mls? swim personally would take the liquid.

I wouldn’t have thought there would be that big a difference in either to be truthful, it’s possible the liquid will produce analgesia slightly quicker than the tablets, simply because it’s more easily absorbed, maybe this will lead to slight reduction in the length of pain relief, but i doubt it, Tablets on the other hand need to be eroded in ones stomach before the morphine can be released.
Morphine taken orally has a very low bioavailability 25%-35%, if swiy is seriously looking at relieving pain he might want to consider this.

Rectal administration when done correctly can increase the bioavailability of Morphine up to 90%, however an incorrectly performed rectal administration can reduce the bioavailability below 25%, you could call that a “Bum job”.
Seriously if my assumptions above were correct Swim would take the liquid, used as prescribed it should give similar effects to M/S tablets, but swiy should definitely look into rectal administration if they’re looking for increased analgesia.

If you do decide to opt for the anal route please spend a little time looking into it, as stated the results can be almost 3 times more effective than oral administration, so you would have to reduce the dose accordingly.

SWIY must understand us SWIMMERS can all give you advice, but it is SWIY body. What works best for one may not work well for another.

In SWIM's opinion go with the tabs. Its easier to dose and it has no taste. The liquid may taste terrible (probably will) and measuring an exact dose can be difficult. Also liquid can be messy and it is hard to dose in public and SWIY will be forced to tell everyone that they are taking morphine. While SWIY could just inconspicuously pop a pill. They are both oral and IR so it really doesn't matter as far as pain management goes. However the liquid will be absorbed faster, although SWIM doubts there is much of a difference. As said before, go with the tabs.

SWIM has a pretty high opiate tolerance taking 160mg MSER tid and up to 90mg IR for BT. The BT tabs are 30mg RXed at 2-3/day max 75/mo. He found that he would need a triple dose of the liuid to feel any relief. His drs conversion was 50% from tab to liquid-30mg tab equalling 15ml liquid or 3 tapa. He did get an oral syringe in order to eliminate waste as due to extreme arthritis his hands dont work well. He is sdverse to plugging as his dr wouldnt find it acceptable. SWIM treats his meds like gold and obeys his narcotics contract to the T(no matter how much he would love to try pot for sleep/appetite issues)

Please delete the question on value. SWIM was curoius as 1/2 liter sounds just like so much whereas if the original question was answerd-is 1mg in oral solution the same 1mg in a tablet?)
That being the case a full liter of liquid would only eqaul the mg strength of 17 30mg tablets.
The question of value will never come up again. SWIM says hes sorry and had no intention of letting it go anywhere but again a full liter om morphine just sounds like a lifetime supply!
Again SWIM wants to give his heartfealt regret for having broken the rules.

I would have thought your narcotic agreement strictly forbids selling on your medication, in any event discussing its potential value is against the rules.

I’m still unsure as to your doses, are the tablets 30mg IR and swiys been offered 90 of these, or has swiy been offered 90 10mg IR tablets?

Regardless of that, if the liquids strength is 10mg/5ml, 1ml of liquid=2mg of M/S, 1 litre=2000mg, the mg strength in the liquid should be exactly the same as the mg strength in the tablets. For example 15mls of liquid = One 30mg tablet.

SWIM was just being nosy about the cost. SWIM has seen some truly ridiculous figures on the news and was just curious. SWIM would never sell them as there is only so much allowed and the pain is for real. SWIM had never heard of such a thing as liquid morphine for oral use and was Given a fair supply for BT along with a fentanyl patch. The PC DR flay ass freaked and said he aint givin nobody no dam liter of morphine! Such was the crushing reality that its actually 33 tabs eqiv,

Liquid id always the better bet to go with. Be careful with liquid though, it gets metabolized alot quicker than with pills and youll get alot more fucked up alot quicker.

I learned this the hard/fun way with liquid oxycontin. I would usually take 40 mg pill so i figured, 40mg of liquid, right? WRONG. It fucked me up so much more than a 40 mg pill did Lol i was driving my moms van at the time with her in it, and my vision started getting all blurry. It was scary at first, but also fun lol.

But morphine is BS and its never fucked me up. I dont like it. It reminds me more of a codeine high than an oc/dope high. And yes, they are different.

Double check with a phar answered all q's. For every 30mg tab take 14ml liquiid. The liquid is rated as 5ml=10mg so 1 tspoon is 10mg. All is understood excpt on the choice for perm supply!

Swim went with the tabs. They offer on the liquid was a pisspoor conversion and he would have only got 20% as much strength wuise. He also was able to get a decent ER this month, no mas oromorph! The Endo MSER is far better.
