Side effects - Ephedrine vs. Propylhexedrine: Which is Safer?

After UTFSE and searching other sites, I can't get a satisfactory answer to this question:

Which is the safer stimulant: ephedrine or propylhexedrine?

I know ephedrine (or ephedra) was implicated in some deaths and adverse effects even in recommended doses, and that propyl has killed people who injected it, but that's about as much as I could find.

I'm more interested in the safety of these substances in low doses--say 25mg. ephedrine or 30 mg. propyl. Common sense tells me that both can be deadly in large doses, but it'd be nice to know which is worse at a reasonable dose.

(When I say "safer" I mean less likely to cause acute or chronic cardiovascular issues or death.)
