[top]Adding a video to the file archive

Step 1:

Click on the “Quick Links” button found on the drugs-forum navigation bar and from the drop down box select “Add Video”. This will take you to the drugs-forum “Add Entry” page that needs to be completed when adding a video.

Step 2:

Fill in the boxes.

* Next to “Name” type in the title of the video.
* Next to “Description” type in the length of the video (if known) and a brief description of the video.
* Next to “Keywords” type in drug-related keywords associated with your video, separated by a space.

Step 3:

* Open a second web tab or page and go to the website where the video is located. For example: www.youtube.com
* Go to the page that plays the video, here is an example of a video on youtube:

Step 4:

Highlight the URL which can be found in a box titled: URL. It should look something like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjXi6X-moxE and will be similar, if not identical, to the address in your browser. With youtube you will need to click on the "more info" link.

Step 5:

Once highlighted, you need to copy the URL. To do this you can either right click on it and select “copy” from the drop down box or use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + C

Step 6:

Go back to the drugs-forum “Add Entry” page that needs to be completed when adding a video.

* Paste the URL in the box next to “URL.” To do this you can either right click in the box and from the drop down box select “Paste” or click inside the box and use the keyboard shortcut : Ctrl + V
* Choose the correct category from the box next to “Parent Categories” by scrolling down to “Video’s about drugs” and selecting the correct video genre.

Step 7:

Now you can click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page to submit your video to the archive, or alternatively, proceed to the next section and upload an image file for the video.

[top]Uploading an image for your video

Step 1:

Go the website and page where your video plays and copy the title of the video into the “search box”, then click the “search” button:

Step 2:

*Find the video clip in the search results and then either copy the image location by right clicking on the image and selecting "copy image location" or save the image to your computer by right clicking on the image and selecting “Save Image As”
*If there is no image or thumbnail associated with your video then you can try searching google images and then select the image that is most appropriate for you video.

Step 3:

Go back to the drugs-forum “Add Entry” page and either paste the image location that you copied, or click on the “Browse” button next to “Image Upload” and select the image that you saved to your computer.

Step 4:

Now you can click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page to submit your video to the archive:
