Is swim addicted to adderall?

Swim is suppose to take 50mg of adderall xr everyday for his ADD (30mg in the morning, 20mg after school), but swim usually takes 120-170mg at least 3 days a week. On the days swim wants to have fun, he wakes up and takes 120mg of XR then he usually takes another 30-50mg throughout the coarse of the day. Swim usually feels like crap on the days without high doses of adderall, but swim thought that hangovers were normal. When swim doesnt take adderall, he craves it... a lot. He doesnt NEED it, he just obsesses about it and wants it, and plans out his next "fun" day. Personally, swim doesnt consider himself to be addicted to adderall... but he has had multiple people tell him that he is addicted and that he should get help. When swim tells his friends that he isnt addicted, they tell swim that he is in denial. Swim feels like he could stop whenever he wanted... he just doesnt feel like stopping yet... the positives greatly outway the negatives.

Swim has a couple of questions about tolerance... Obviously swim has a fairly high tolerance with adderall (it takes at least 120mg to feel any euphria, and about 150mg to feel really good). Swim wants to take a break from adderall, so he doesnt have to take half of his prescription when he wants to have fun. Swim would like to lower his tolerance so that a smaller dose would make him feel good. Would a month long break be long enough to lower swims tolerance?

Re: Is swim addicted to adderall?

SWIM has been taking addy for 2 years now. at first it started out ocassionally and now it's as often as swim can afford or find it(at least 3 days a week SWIM takes addy). At first only 10 mg of it would keep swim up for 24 hours with super focus and energy. Now swims tolerence is a lot higher and swim needs at least 40mg for it to even be worth swallowing the pill. Swim knows she has a problem but isn't ready to deal with it and doesn't want her family to know. but if SWIY has a script and the doctor knows that swiy is taking addy i would talk to him about it and get help.

And yes if SWIY stopped using for a month it would pretty much be like starting all over again. But where SWIY actually gets the script for ADD adderall won't act as strong as it would in SWIM who doesn't have ADD and uses it since it's an upper

Hope this helps a little

myocardial infarction added 4 Minutes and 32 Seconds later...

And make sure that when SWIY takes it they take it on a COMPLETELY empty stomach then wait at least and hour after taking it to eat or drink anything. SWIM has noticed that this makes a HUGE difference in the potency of the drug and how long it takes to hit.

Just a little FYI
